Jaguars unveil their new logo

We noted this morning that the Jaguars were preparing to unveil a new logo. Well, it didn’t take long.

At a “State of the Jaguars” press conference this afternoon, the team unveiled the new logo, which you see here.

Said Jaguars owner Shad Khan, “Nothing brings a team more to life than a team logo.”

I’d argue that winning a Super Bowl brings a team more to life than a team logo, but for a franchise that needs to make a lot of changes this offseason, the new look is a small part of what Khan hopes will be a new beginning.

On a related note, what are the chances that the Chiefs update their look at all this offseason? There's practically no chance that the logo changes (it's pretty much timeless), but I think there are a lot of people who think that the jerseys are a bit dated.

Something drastic like what the Seahawks did probably isn't necessary, but it could work out well. Changing the yellow on our jerseys to a gold would be awesome, as well as possibly incorporating some black like we've got on the logo. That being said, I would be plenty happy with a tasteful update like the Vikings or Rams got not too long ago. This is the beginning of a new era - does Clark break tradition to commemorate it?

This. I've said it every year the last 5. Making a change to the unis is like a brand new start. It just makes the players feel cool. Don't have to go all Oregon but look what happened to other teams that changed their unis; Broncos, Bucs, Vikes, Rams all went deep into the playoffs after they changed.

Yes they do. Even tigers will put their ears back when they open their jaw and get ready to attack. The entire point is to make their ears not vulnerable.

They were going to redo the Chiefs logo but they couldn't find a good way to meld rednecks and misery into a modern logo.
