Professor Bans Students From Using Fox News As A Source
While it’s not shocking that a journalism professor would ban students from citing news sources that are not credible, it is eyebrow-raising that one of those sources would be Fox News. In a copy of a syllabus obtained by Fox,Stephanie Wolfe, a visiting professor of journalism at West Liberty University in West Virginia, banned her students from citing Fox because she finds it cringe-worthy.

In the syllabus, the Wolfe banned The Onion and Fox News. “Please do not subject me to this biased news station,” Wolfe wrote. “I would almost rather you print off an article from The Onion.”




The university’s president, Robin Capehart, did not appear to agree with Wolfe’s decision when asked for comment.
“One of our values at West Liberty is to encourage students to go out and inquire and gather information and look at as many different sources as possible on any side, before you reach your opinion,” Capehart told a local West Virginia news outlet. “Any attempt to limit the breadth of a student’s ability to investigate is obviously something at which we have a concern.”

You edit audio just ONE little time to incite racial tension and present a story in a biased fashion and all of a sudden you're FOX news. I'm sure the rest of the time it's fair and balanced.
And I'm sure when they presented edited audio, again, regarding Neil Heslin being, "heckled" that was just over time constraints, too. Of course, when that was pointed out they re-aired the full audio.

Ok, so you edit audio just TWO little times and all of a sudden you're FOX news. Sheesh. The rest of the time there's no doubt MSNBC presents stories in the most unbiased was possible.

Big deal. And the whole Freddy's Fashion Mart thing, you can't pin that on Al. Inflammatory language by Al probably had nothing to do with it. So what if arson and death were involved?

He's a super guy and a welcome addition to the fine MSNBC family.

Don't really see how you can compare them. Morris wasn't "fired" for being partisan. He was fired, I assume, for being embarassingly and consistently wrong. Of course, that makes one wonder why they keep Sean Hannity on.

I doubt that. If you're biased (which they clearly both are) you'll fund a way to project that, even if it's in a subtle fashion. If it's not as obvious as FOX news it's still being done with the way they choose stories, the way they introduce them, or write a headline for it, and the type of language they use.
I don't watch either, but if you're biased you're biased. You may have a more sophisticated and eloquent way of going about it, but it's the same thing. The bottom line is you have an agenda.

I think that is oversimplifying it. I would play stupid if I was you as well though.
