Source says Cassel to be cut now

Just listening to the radio (Petro) and during the sportscenter update, they said according to an "NFL source", Cassel will now be cut.

IF true, the chiefs still need a qb no? I'll be shocked if they don't move back up into the second to get the best QB available.

You can do this with every freaking position on the field. If a player does not pan out you cut him and draft another player at that position.

I live in Nashville, I watched the Titans draft Vince Young, watched him fail, watched Nashville cut Vince Young and watched them draft Jake Locker.

It can be done, you can draft a QB and cut him and draft another if he does not work out. Really you can.

Especially if you just went 2-14 and haven't won a playoff game in years.

At that point, what have you got to lose?

How sickening would it be for the Chief's fans if jerkoff Cassel goes to be a backup on a team and they win the Super Bowl and we suffer a 5-11 season???

That may be the last straw that makes me jump.....

So why not trade him for a second round pick? San Fran just some dumbass team to do something very similar.

And to add to this; the KC Chiefs have never, in the history of the franchise, drafted and developed a starting QB.

Forget the last 30 years since we last drafted a QB in the first round, never drafting and developing a QB in a team's history take serious dedication.

Just by the law of averages we should have stumbled upon one quality QB the KC drafted or even signed as a UDFA at some point.

Because Dawson wasn't even worth a draft pick that makes it better? Thats good logic.

You completely misinterpreted what I wrote.
I'm not with this Alex Smith BS AT ALL.
Had we gotten him as a F/A though, I could certainly live with it.

On NFL Live, ESPN's Adam Schefter mentioned #Jets, #Vikings, and #Cardinals as potential suitors for free agent-to-be Matt Cassel.
