Can you give an example of what kind of establishment views he'd stand up to or what kinds of reforms he'd champion? I assume you're not talking about anything radical like women priests or married priests. If you don't have anything in mind, that's OK too.

It means he's okay with holding the Body of Christ 10 inches above the altar instead of the usual 12.

Honestly though, I can see there being reformers in terms of administrative functions. Also, in the sense of something like re-acceptance of Latin Mass extraordinary forms (ushered in by Benedict XVI), that could be taking on the establishment.

No I have a number of specific things in mind... I've been following his career for years now.One of the BIG issues he took on dealt with the abuse scandals in the Church. When Cardinal Sodano(head of the college of cardinals) was dismissive of the reports, Schonborn verbally jumped his ass and the two ended up being called before the pope for a talking to.

He also has been open to other "reforms" like condom use and yes even married priests.

I was on my phone trying to read this at work today and couldn't. All of the stuff loading on the side kept resetting the page back to the beginning. That was pretty cool. I never really considered any prophesies when I first heard of the Pope retiring, and it's not something I think about much anyway. What a trip. Thanks for the link.

Yeah, I don't take it seriously, I just thought it was fun. I'm sure some people do take it seriously though and I'm not trying to belittle those who do.

I wouldn't mind seeing him elected, he visited my alma mater (Benedictine College) a year or so ago. My money is on Scola, or the darkhorse O'Malley (simply because of his work in Boston cleaning up the mess made by Card. Law).
