I think you're on the right track. The most important thing you can do (that you can control) in order to attract people to you is to be interesting. The second most important thing is to put yourself in situations where you meet new people. My guess is that your roller derby club will help with both.

Have fun with it. Hang out with the friends you make. When you meet (female) friends of friends with whom you hit it off, trade numbers and hang out. Most of my best friends are people who I met that way. The more people you hang out with and can relate to, the more likely you are to meet a guy who clicks with you. It's really no more complicated than that, but you have to be willing to branch out.

If you only hang out with the same people, you are limited in who you are going to meet even if they are great people. Women struggle to make friends after college, so the roller derby thing is perfect.

I was so pissed at my phone and so embarrassed that I was at the right place and so was she and I couldn't find her.

So I felt pretty bad about myself and today finally got over my embarrassment and asked her out and we're going out on Thursday and this time she's coming this way so I don't have to worry about getting lost lol.

Navigation ****ing up your phone happened to me tonight too. I got to the girl's place right on time to pick her up and tried to call her to come downstairs and the call kept not failing to even dial. Finally I had to pull my battery and reboot the phone. By the time I realized the phone was bugged out & it rebooted I was nearly 15mins late and the phone had texts & calls from her wondering if I was lost.

It will be interesting to see how this plays out. Normally I would tell you take your "L" or in this case "chance" card and moved on.

However I had a similar situation like this happen to me with a girl. I think it actually helped me for a bit because this girl was the ultimate ****ed in the head kind who loved these kinds of games where you ignore her then she chases you. Anyway the relationship didn't end well too old for those types of games. Goodluck Buck.

A friend commented about a tweet I sent earlier today about getting a tongue-lashing and asked if it came from my lady-friend.. At least people assume I'm successful with the fairer sex than I really am.

Now I have a theory on this that I don't necessarily believe applies to me, as I generally don't mind talking to unknown people.

However, I feel that American society is really centered on finding humor in the awkward or different, and that this influences how people treat each other in "first contact" situations.

I'd explain, but I'm not getting paid enough.
