Where is the picture for all gun deaths? Is this a Fox News graphic?

It might be of interest to add an "all gun deaths" category to show how minuscule the "assault weapons problem" really is. But you understand that anti-gun nuts are trying, at least for now, to pass an "assault weapons ban" not an "all guns ban", right?

I don't consider them all nuts but yes I know that assault weapons are being targeted

I consider them all nuts because there is no such thing as an "assault weapon"

Of course there is. It is just that they are already illegal to civilians with out a class 3 weapons permit.

Then you should understand that this graphic is on point (even if you don't understand that they're all nuts).

That's the problem with the graphic--no where does it say that. There's a picture of a gun with a number. And a picture of a hammer with a number. Stop being ridiculous.

In this case you are correct. Pat made a mistake when typing out his post. The gun actually represents all rifles. So the number for assault rifles would be substantially less, assault rifles being a subset of rifles.

Does the hammer only represent traditional claw hammers or does it include mallets and sledgehammers as well ?

I think this graphic is a little too sophisticated for you.

And, it also doesn't explain that either. It doesn't explain anything. It has pictures and numbers. If it needs all this explaining, it fails as anything useful.

It is pretty straightforward. It's taken from FBI homicide statistics. The top three images represent a weapon category on the FBI website. Rifles, blunt objects, knives. Consider that "assault rifles" are a subset of rifles, so the number would actually be below 323. Look at the definition of "assault rifle" used by the 1994-2004 AWB. Consider that nothing about an "assault rifle" makes one more convenient for mass shootings. Banning "assault rifles" would be about as silly, and effective, as banning hammers.
