When these two stories appear in the news on the same day, you know we have a problem.

From Colorado, the latest state to succumb utterly to moonbattery:


A bill allowing lower tuition rates for illegal immigrant students received final approval from state House lawmakers Friday.

The bill passed 40-21 and will now proceed to Gov. John Hickenlooper, who is expected to sign the bill. Three Republicans joined with all the Democratic lawmakers to approve the bill. …

The bill allows students who graduate from Colorado high schools to attend college at the in-state rate regardless of their immigration status.

Meanwhile,


The Army announced Friday it is suspending its tuition assistance program for soldiers newly enrolling in classes due to sequestration and other budgetary pressures.

Even with sequestration, government spending will continue to rise. But it provides bureaucrats a pretext to make selective cuts on a political basis.


The Army’s announcement follows a similar move by the Marine Corps.

Big Government gives with one hand and takes away with the other. That it takes from heroes who put their lives on the line for our country, and gives to illegal aliens who express contempt for our country, its sovereignty, and its laws just by being here, tells you all you need to know about the nature of our rulers.

They want to encourage illegal immigration from the Third World, so as to displace us with a population that will more reliably vote for socialists; they do not want to encourage the bright and ambitious to go into the military.

A country run by people who clearly do not mean it well cannot have a promising future.

I do have a problem in a time of major budget deficit to vote themselves a bonus.

Most government workers don't get shot at in their line of work. You make it through a couple of tours you deserve a couple of perks. And the nation should be gracious in giving it to you.

The reason the military has so many desirable benefits is because there is no draft anymore. If your going to have an all-volunteer force, then you have to give people incentives to join. Start taking those away, then what happens?
