MoS Diary: Adele lands her biggest ever gig at Michelle Obama's 50th birthday party

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz...day-party.html

So Adele and Beyonce are going to perform for Queen Michelle but the tax paying citizen can't get a tour of the White House?

They are.

However, for any event, there's going to be overtime, added agents, military staff, etc...

Now I'm not picking on just Obama here. Lately, the White House has turned into party central. Bush blew plenty also.

Somewhere in the last decade, the average party cost of $190,000 jumped to over $500,000 per event. It doesn't seem the economy is effecting the White House like is the common man.

"Obama spent 5 times more than Bush on parties"

http://frontpagemag.com/2012/dgreenf...ies-than-bush/

"Bush spent 5 times more on trips to Texas..."

http://www.politicususa.com/cost-oba...tion-bush.html

Why wouldn't their personal spending make me sick? $4,000,000 Christmas vacations? $260,000 to visit their ranch?

Regarding the article from frontpagemag.com--
It says, "Gary Walters, who ran presidential household operations for 21 years during Democratic and Republican administrations, before retiring in 2007, told The Examiner the costs reflected in the documents were “excessive. They are high.”

It never says what these documents are, but the quote is that the guy is syaing that the numbers in the document are execessive, extremely high. In other words, he's saying that the numbers reported are bullshit.

It's her right to way her fee, but I thought lefties felt the rich should pay, and pay more.

Feel free to correct me, but I read it as Walters saying that the Obama party costs are excessive and high compared to the previous parties. I don't take it as him calling bullshit.

Were these normally expenditures? Not even close according to the man who ran presidential operations for the White House for 21 years, from Reagan until Bush.
He's saying the Obama parties cost more than Clintons parties which consisted of 500 people and two tents.

You'd think the WH would get in front of this and provide a list of items/events the first family will forego to do their part.

Unless of course they can't provide a list.

At the very least, re-read that article and the way it is written and the way it cites to another article. I think they cut it in a certain way to serve their needs. It is a really shitty source and the way it is written is horseshit. You really need to find another source if you want to 'prove' this.

And miss out on royal functions what is the matter with you? A trip to Martha's Vineyard only costs tax payers millions so what if some peasants lose their jobs or go hungry. The royal family is above all of us~

That part isn't cut up from the article cited. Here is the text from the cited article:

Gary Walters, who ran presidential household operations for 21 years during Democratic and Republican administrations, before retiring in 2007, told The Examiner the costs reflected in the documents were "excessive. They are high."

The chief usher of the White House from the Reagan to George W. Bush presidencies, Walters consulted a former White House colleague and said neither of them could recall entertainment costs anywhere near those revealed in the documents provided to The Examiner.

"The highest [cost] event we could remember was $190,000 to $200,000 range, and that was for a very large dinner outside that was probably somewhere in the vicinity of 500 people with two different tents," Walters said, noting that the event was held under President Clinton.

http://washingtonexaminer.com/spendi...8#.UIr3bOTAeID

The article reports that Gary Walters (The chief usher of the White House from the Reagan to George W. Bush presidencies, who ran presidential household operations for 21 years during Democratic and Republican administrations, before retiring in 2007) is stating that Obama's parties had a significantly higher tab than previous parties. He (Walters) contrasts the reported figures of Obama's parties ($500K to $1 MIL) with the anecdotal figures of Clinton's most expensive parties ($190,000 to $200,000). He (Walters) also states that he consulted a former White House colleague to confirm (by hearsay) those Clinton figures.

That doesn't mean any of this is true, but the article is reporting that Obama's parties are significantly more expensive than previous POTUS parties held at the White House.

What a joke of an article. The way it is written, there is no way to know exactly what he is talking about--and I think that is on purpose. He said the numbers in the document (what document?) were high. So is he saying incorrect? Who knows? His following statement that the highest he could remember was about 200K does mean the reported Obama expenses were actually true. All we have for him is this odd quotation: "excessive. They are high." This is shit, meaningeless reporting, and you know it. I'm not surprised it would be convincing to someone like pete, but I am surprised you would defend this garbage.

Maybe if you read the article more slowly? I think you are having trouble parsing the article.
