Best news for the Chiefs if they want to trade out of the 1st.

I still hold a small thread of hope that Alex Smith was traded for because he was such a good boy backup last year. I think Reid knows how valuable a dependent backup is in the NFL now. That is my one last real hope of taking a shot at a QB.

Did you miss that Chase Daniel was signed for 3 mill per year?

Quit setting yourself up for disappointment.
Alex Smith is going to be the unquestionable starter for the next 3-4 years until Save Our Chiefs starts up again and gets another new regime who will then trade for yet another teams scrub QB. Rinse and repeat.

You may as well hop on board that wagon, or find somebody else to root for.

I don't get the excitement for trading down so someone else can draft Geno. Can anyone name the last time the team in the 1 slot moved down so someone else could take the QB won?

You could say the chargers won in getting LT instead of Vick

Right. So Alex isn'tgoing to be a backup this year. A more realistic scenario is Geno is the 3rd QB this year then the other two backing him up. That's the only 1% hope IMO.
