****Official 2013-14 Missouri Tiger Football Repository Thread****

We have two things to look forward to this year:

1) The potential beginning of the Maty Mauk Era. Mauk represents the best chance for this program to get back to a level of respectability after horrendous QB play cost us multiple games last year.

2) The last year of the Gary Pinkel era. Pinkel's entrenched cronyism won't play in a conference this competitive, especially if he couples his abysmal gameday coaching with lackadaisical, worst-in-conference recruiting. Pinkel was the formerly adequate meal that has now turned into a four pound bowel obstruction. It's time to jam a Fleet's enema up our collective asses.

Here is the schedule. We dodge Alabama, LSU, and Arkansas in the west and the Non-con is decidedly weaker than years past.

8/31: Murray State
9/7: Toledo
9/21: @ Indiana
9/28: Arkansas State
10/5:@ Vanderbilt
10/12: @ Georgia
10/19:Florida
10/26: South Carolina
11/2:Tennessee
11/9: @ Kentucky
11/23: @ Ole Miss
11/30: aTm

Looks like 6-6. Undefeated in non-con, 2-6 in league play.

I will eventually update the OP with a list of high profile in-state recruits that decide to go elsewhere after a half-assed attempt to gain their services. The inevitable cavalcade of *** rejects, skeezers, skanks, and scalliwags we get will fill out the ranks.

Razors, cyanide capsules, and Jonestown Kool-Aid are available in the break room. Second door on the left.

Since every Mizzou thread eventually dies of AIDS, I recommend starting anti-retroviral therapy immediately. I believe Walgreens covers Express Scripts.

Premium In-State Players:

Roderick Johnson: **** OT, Florissant, MO.
Monte Harrison: **** WR, Lee's Summit, MO.
Jimmy Swain: **** LB, Lee's Summit, MO

Commitment List: From to and possibly

Spoiler!

Just fyi...Vegas appears to think Mizzou wins BIG. 70% of the money is on Toledo, but the line keeps getting bigger (up to 17.5 now). They are begging people to bet on Toledo.

Vegas thinks they know something.

In the end, the most depressing thing about this season won't be this season.

It will be 2 seasons from now.

This team still has a SR QB that was among the best QBs as a sophomore in a passing conference. Franklin may be a pussy, but he does not suck. It has one of the best RBs in college football apparently back and healthy. It has arguably the most talented WR in college football and arguably the deepest WR core as well.

This team has a shitload of weapons.

But in 2 years it won't. And the recruits have dried up.

What's depressing about this season is this: Folks - this is the top of the mountain. Enjoy the 2013 season because it's going to go downhill fast from here.

Its going to be a while before they can be respectable, I'm not one to constantly check on the recruiting but I went to rivals the other day and they are in some deep shit, its mostly 2 stars on that list, very undersized too.

The 2015 team is likely a 2-3 win team.

Yeah, not that many bright spots.

Russell Hansbrough. Evan Boehm. Kentrell Brothers. Ian Simon. MAYBE Levi Copelin. Shane Ray. Connor McGovern. MAYBE TAylor Chappell. MAYBE Brad McNulty. Josh Augusta.

I have a hard time getting excited about some of the other guys that haven't proven anything yet (Mike Scherer, Eric Beisel, Gibson and Payton at DB).

Printz or Mauk is likely the starting QB, though it honestly wouldn't surprise me if Drew Lock is there and starts as a true frosh.

Lock is a must get.

He put up 77 last night against a good opponent...56 in the first half.

He loves Mizzou. Family loves Mizzou.

They need either:

1) Pinkel regime to stabilize and continue.

2) Pinkel regime to come to quick end and new coach to get in good with the family.

Not sure which gives Mizzou a better chance, to be honest.

The 2015 local recruiting class has a chance to be one of our best ever. Numerous 4* talents that we are in great shape with, including the QB Lock. Also East St. Louis has the #2 overall player in the country in DT Terry Beckner, and word is we have a good shot with him too.
