****Official 2013-14 Missouri Tiger Football Repository Thread****

We have two things to look forward to this year:

1) The potential beginning of the Maty Mauk Era. Mauk represents the best chance for this program to get back to a level of respectability after horrendous QB play cost us multiple games last year.

2) The last year of the Gary Pinkel era. Pinkel's entrenched cronyism won't play in a conference this competitive, especially if he couples his abysmal gameday coaching with lackadaisical, worst-in-conference recruiting. Pinkel was the formerly adequate meal that has now turned into a four pound bowel obstruction. It's time to jam a Fleet's enema up our collective asses.

Here is the schedule. We dodge Alabama, LSU, and Arkansas in the west and the Non-con is decidedly weaker than years past.

8/31: Murray State
9/7: Toledo
9/21: @ Indiana
9/28: Arkansas State
10/5:@ Vanderbilt
10/12: @ Georgia
10/19:Florida
10/26: South Carolina
11/2:Tennessee
11/9: @ Kentucky
11/23: @ Ole Miss
11/30: aTm

Looks like 6-6. Undefeated in non-con, 2-6 in league play.

I will eventually update the OP with a list of high profile in-state recruits that decide to go elsewhere after a half-assed attempt to gain their services. The inevitable cavalcade of *** rejects, skeezers, skanks, and scalliwags we get will fill out the ranks.

Razors, cyanide capsules, and Jonestown Kool-Aid are available in the break room. Second door on the left.

Since every Mizzou thread eventually dies of AIDS, I recommend starting anti-retroviral therapy immediately. I believe Walgreens covers Express Scripts.

Premium In-State Players:

Roderick Johnson: **** OT, Florissant, MO.
Monte Harrison: **** WR, Lee's Summit, MO.
Jimmy Swain: **** LB, Lee's Summit, MO

Commitment List: From to and possibly

Spoiler!

I know that Buccaneers scouts have been at every MU game, specifically because of EJ Gaines.

Their season just shows what can happen over a limited sample and moving from awful to competent coaching.
Dude, I was saying before last year to other people, not on CP, that Chizik was vastly overrated and 2010 was a result of Cam.

Chizik is an overrated bastard who lucked into the remains of Tuberville's team and paid for Cam. He should never had been hired with due to his record from Iowa St. and was finally exposed last year.

Even if Auburn lost to Georgia and Alabama, 9-3 is still a great turn around. Would it be as miraculous as 11-1? No, but I don't think I've seen any team win two games like that in the same season, ever.

Gardner was limping in the second half. His knee is ****ed up. Really gutsy performance.

It is a great turnaround and no, I've never seen a team win two games like that either, but over a large enough collection it will happen. The exception proves the rule.

Someone will eventually get that lucky.

Sprint option passes use horizontal width since you have no vertical depth in G2G situations. The QB almost never runs in that situation, but runs parallel to the goal line. If you stagger the receivers' routes correctly it's almost impossible to defend.

In my day, the sprint option was a running play.

Remember "The Catch"? It's that play.

I'm a little apprehensive since Auburn has gotten two wins in a row that ought to be classified as Acts of God, and Mizzou historically gets the acts of smite. It might be the perfect storm.

AP rankings are out. We're still No. 5, behind Alabama.

http://espn.go.com/college-football/rankings/_/poll/1

Honestly, I have no problem with that. The Luckeyes at No. 2, however, sucks. God I hope Michigan State stakes those overrated clowns.

Yeah, would be nice to be #4 over Bama, but honestly, it's house money at this point. I do think we have a great chance next Saturday.

Yep. Prob could play rb at d1 level as well and is on the same or slightly above the level of Murphy in terms of punt/kick returns... He'd be a weapon on that side of the ball if the coaches needed him to be... But we already stacked...

Started CB varsity from soph year on and after krysa left he started rb senior year.. Had a lot of playing time in between at rb tho. He hardly ever left the field senior year.

We aren't better than Alabama, obviously, so I think we are fairly ranked right now.
