****Official 2013-14 Missouri Tiger Football Repository Thread****

We have two things to look forward to this year:

1) The potential beginning of the Maty Mauk Era. Mauk represents the best chance for this program to get back to a level of respectability after horrendous QB play cost us multiple games last year.

2) The last year of the Gary Pinkel era. Pinkel's entrenched cronyism won't play in a conference this competitive, especially if he couples his abysmal gameday coaching with lackadaisical, worst-in-conference recruiting. Pinkel was the formerly adequate meal that has now turned into a four pound bowel obstruction. It's time to jam a Fleet's enema up our collective asses.

Here is the schedule. We dodge Alabama, LSU, and Arkansas in the west and the Non-con is decidedly weaker than years past.

8/31: Murray State
9/7: Toledo
9/21: @ Indiana
9/28: Arkansas State
10/5:@ Vanderbilt
10/12: @ Georgia
10/19:Florida
10/26: South Carolina
11/2:Tennessee
11/9: @ Kentucky
11/23: @ Ole Miss
11/30: aTm

Looks like 6-6. Undefeated in non-con, 2-6 in league play.

I will eventually update the OP with a list of high profile in-state recruits that decide to go elsewhere after a half-assed attempt to gain their services. The inevitable cavalcade of *** rejects, skeezers, skanks, and scalliwags we get will fill out the ranks.

Razors, cyanide capsules, and Jonestown Kool-Aid are available in the break room. Second door on the left.

Since every Mizzou thread eventually dies of AIDS, I recommend starting anti-retroviral therapy immediately. I believe Walgreens covers Express Scripts.

Premium In-State Players:

Roderick Johnson: **** OT, Florissant, MO.
Monte Harrison: **** WR, Lee's Summit, MO.
Jimmy Swain: **** LB, Lee's Summit, MO

Commitment List: From to and possibly

Spoiler!

The real fun would be MU beating Auburn and giving a big case of Heartburn to all the talking heads and throwing a monkey wrench into everyone's travel plans.

I don't see FSU losing, but I do see the possibility of OSU getting surprised in Lucas Oil stadium by MSU.

The bigger picture here is really all these bowls discussed are great bowls & highlight how much better the bowl possibilities are in the SEC vs the Big 12. If you are in the top 6 (which is really 7 most years w/ 2 teams usually getting into the BCS) you are playing on Jan 1 or NYE in prime time against an attractive opp. Even their lower bowls put you in Nashville or Memphis. That's 8 great destinations. Their 9th is Birmingham which is the type of town if you haven't been that's a great place to live but not necessarily to visit unless you like golf w/ the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail. 10th is Shreveport but really if you're the 10th team you're probably lucky to be bowling to begin w/.

I'm not just talking about the breakthrough campaign and march to the SEC title game. I'm also talking about the complete turnaround in recruiting.

All indications are that Mizzou is going to close this recruiting cycle on a significant upswing and possibly crack the top 20 in recruiting rankings.

**** WR Dominique Booth is open again and looking heavily at Mizzou
*** OL Brian Wallace is a Mizzou lean (Army All-American)
**** WR/TE Frank Ihenacho
**** DE Dante Sawyer (tough battle with SCAR)
*** LB Niles Sykes
*** Sharieff Rhaheed

A few of the key targets there.
Word is that we're going to lose out on Niles Sykes to guess who? That's right Notre ****ing Dame.

It's not surprising given his location. Plus, the dude scored a 28 on his ACT. I like him, but he was always likely to be more of a cerebral MLB than a CJ Mosley type mad dog killer.

Gotta keep winning.

One year isn't going to turn us into a recruiting juggernaut.

Another successful season next year and we may (may) turn a corner there. Right now we're still going to struggle to keep kids that the power schools come after, unless they're in-state.

That's what I was going to say, they need to keep winning, we've yet to show we can sustain it. I guess in my crazy mind I'm hoping that we suddenly turn into the "U" and dominate college football out of nowhere, one can hope. The difference is people like living in Miami.

Wow, what were the odds at the beginning of the season? I remember seeing them, but don't recall the numbers.

250/1...I laid $10 down back in July...keeping my fingers crossed...$2500 for $10 is one hell of a payback.

Heh. Well, pissing them off doesn't really concern me. They'll never accept us anyway.

Southern hospitality goes from "Hi, y'all! Welcome to the SEC!" to "Y'all ain't from around here, are ya?" to "Carpetbagging Yankee bastards!" in a hurry.

CJ Mosley is the epitome of a cerebral MLB. Sure, he's athletic as all hell, and can reach an inner gear like few other linebackers in college. But that dude reads the field and lines people up. He's making so many computations per second.
