Is discriminating against someone because of their sexual orientation wrong?

I've never had a publicly gay friend, family member or co-worker. I have no experience with anyone being discriminated against for being gay. I can't understand the concept of male wanting to have sex with another male.

But, I don't have to understand it. Whatever two consenting adults do in the privacy of their own bedroom is none of my business.

I believe that discriminating against someone only because of their sexual orientation is wrong and is/should be constitutionally protected.

Actually I have a lot of errands to run, some of them out of town, and I'm screwing around on the internet instead. Thanks for the lively discussion but I have to bow out for now.

Many of the problems of straight people are caused from declining ethics, morality and standards due to the sexual revolution promoted by the Progressive left. Marx supported the idea of "free love." Now women have caught up with the men on cheating. Of course, this was the goal of cultural Marxism as well, because Marx was opposed to what he considered bourgeoisie marriage. People are economically poorer due to such problems—particularly women. So it creates more dependence on the state. Also the goal of Marx. When you destroy the subgroups such as states, local communities and the family ( the smallest governing unit) you get this type of trouble.

I'll add this while I have the link available.
I give you specific, non welfare benefits of marriage, and you rant about welfare. Are you trying to bait me into a different subject? cause I anit got time for that.

I gave you examples of welfare and/or financial benefits (whatever you want to call them) from the govt. I gave you an example of expanding welfare state benefits under the previous president. And you have an emotional reaction to it which shows you can't refute it. Got it you have no convincing argument.

skin color is genetic and sexual orientation is not. Believe it or not people out there decide to be homosexual. Cool. Whatever blows your skirt up. Morals are subjective. Ergo discrimination in the context of morals is also subjective. Is it okay to discriminate someone based on their decisions? Yes. We do it all the time.

That is just a load of crap. You can decide to be a bi-sexual. For your own personal enjoyment you want to swing both ways. But, thats not what anyone is discussing.

I'm convinced, the scientific and medical community are convinced that homosexuality is not a choice. They are homosexuals because they have no choice. It is who they are. We should accept them as they are.

I agree it's a condition not a choice. Some people are presisposed to it. Just like alcoholism is genetically predisposed in some. We just need to accept homosexuality and alcoholism as destiny with some.

This isn't about gay activists. The Boy Scouts always give two reasons for forbidding gays in their group.

  1. Being gay is immoral.
  2. The gays can't be trusted to be alone with our kids.
Both are complete BS. They are no more prone to molest our kids than heterosexuals. We just agreed that gays are made that way. If you are a christian and they are being made that way, is that not the creators doing?

No. There is no evidence that homosexuality is genetic. To say it is fact negates the very creed of reseach..aka the scientific method. But that's not my point. My point is there exists people that do decide to be homosexual. I don't have a problem with that.

As to the question of whether its morally wrong to discrimate against a homosexual. I wouls say it depends on the situation.
