Why did Obama not call the Boston bombings an act of terrorism?

Regardless of who did it, it was a clear act of terrorism. Why did he not call it for what it is?

I listened to Savage a little on the way home from the gym and heard reports that the Boston Police are furious that he (Obama) did not call it terrorism

Also there are reports that they have a Saudi National under lockdown in a hospital and there is a BOLO (Be On the Look Out) for a "dark skinned foreign national" which apparently the media is also not reporting.

No matter how politically correct one may be, you cannot pretend terrorism does not exist and you cannot pretend this was not such an act regardless of whom the perp is.

It struck me as odd that CNN chose to fixate so much on his initial words right after the bombs went off. If he CONTINUES to refuse to call it a terrorist attack that would be another thing, but to obsess about the man's every word in every speech is pretty damn stupid.
It wouldn't be such an issue of we weren't talking about the same guy who in years past has pretty much forbidden the use of the word terrorism. In other words he quit calling terrorists, terrorists years ago. Sorry, it just burns my ass.

Did 2 bombs go off at the Boston Marathon killing innocent people?
Did the Police find other unexploded bombs?

Nah, not an act of terror. You're right, we need more fact.
Let me quote this again...twice. Just for you.

I know, the videos of the explosions could really be some creative editing by some highschool kid playing a prank on us all.

Don't get me wrong. That whole "Man-made disaster" bullshit pissed me off too, and I'll be pissed off if the government (and Obama) refuses to call this what it is.

I just thought it was a little too soon for CNN to obsess about it.

Yes, that was clearly it.

Now don't get me wrong, I think it's a legitimate question if he refuses to acknowledge it as a terrorist attack at all. Losing your mind because it didn't happen right away is absurd.

The bullshit in this thread is a perfect encapsulation of why our entire political system is so dysfunctional.

No attempt at scoring cheap political points is beneath some of you.

If aliens teleported through a wormhole tomorrow and ionized Wyoming, pete and the like would probably say Obama condoned it b/c it's a red state.

Either way, what the president says about it in his first statement to the press while they're still clearing the area and collecting evidence has no legal implications.
