Searching is (back on)

As those of you who have been here a while know, using the search feature is one of the most server-intensive processes there is. We have a potential solution that we'll hopefully be able to put in place once AustinChief is able to get us upgraded to vBulletin, but in the meantime, we just have to live with it.

However, given that this place is gonna be rockin for the next few days, I've I've turned searching off globally for now. Once things die down again, we'll turn it back on.

We going to lock out n00bs / lurkers too?

Might help if we draft or trade a pick to keep out a flood of whomevers.

If we cannot search, we cannot discover. Christopher Columbus searched, Galileo searched, Jonas Salk searched. Mankind's inquisitiveness is the key to our past, our present, and our future. I fear that the suppression of this innately human instinct will lead to our destruction.

Eh, maybe. I'll be on and will throw the switch if needed. Usually, though, it's searches that drag the place down rather than high post volume.
