Updated, per DaFace's thread about adding Brock when MacDougald was cut.

Also, I've promoted Sean McGrath to 2nd string TE.

yes.

* Brodie Croyle (!) is the only quarterback drafted by the team to start a game for them since the mid-80's...and he barely beat out Damon Huard in the process. Croyle then promptly lost all six of his starts. He couldn't even beat out Tyler Thigpen once he returned from injury.

Good for Opurum. He seems to be a good dude. He was on the KU football radio broadcast recently and he was really well spoken and said all the right things.

I'm really surprised they dumped someone on the PS for him given the way Sherman is playing. Not really sure he has a fit here but I'm glad he's got a spot.

Per league source, former Steelers RB Chris Rainey worked out on Monday for the Chiefs and ran the 40-yard dash in the low 4.3s.

Chris Rainey works out for the Chiefs, runs in the low 4.3s

Posted by Mike Florio on September 23, 2013, 3:09 PM EDT
Chris Rainey
AP
The Steelers drafted running back Chris Rainey in 2012. After a couple of run-ins with the law, the Steelers cut him.

He has since been ignored by all other NFL teams.

On Monday, he wasn’t. Per multiple league sources, the Chiefs worked out Rainey on Monday. Though he ran the 40-yard dash in the low 4.3s, the Chiefs have decided that they currently don’t have a spot for him.

One source said that Rainey was timed on one stopwatch at 4.29 seconds.

Other teams now may consider kicking Rainey’s tires. The only problem is that, because Rainey was accused of assaulting his girlfriend, some may be reluctant to take a chance on him, given the potential P.R. challenges.

At 4.3 seconds, it’s probably worth at least testing it out with a focus group.

Why work him out if you aren't going to sign him even if he kills it?
