Pressure washer suggestions?

Looking to possibly buy a pressure washer to wash wood (treated) deck, stone patio, stone shingles (bird crap), and stucco walls that have some calcium stains, etc.

Would like to stay electric if possible....but will they have enough PSI to get the job done?

Thx

a friend of mine a while back was cleaning the outside of his house. his 9 year old wanted to help, so he showed him how.

He left the kid out there for about 20 minutes while he went inside to do something.
Little bastard blasted off all the paint on nearly the entire side of his house.

Yeah, I kinda figured there was some risk involved!

I have a Karcher 1800 psi electric. It works like a champ.

Is pressure washing stucco a good idea? Just curious.

I wouldn't go electric if I were you. I have a small Troy Built that I have had for years and it still works great. Used it yesterday as a matter of fact.

I've been wanting to buy one for my dad for some time now, but I've been torn between gas and electric. I think electric would be a pain, but so would maintaining yet ANOTHER engine.

I've heard you can....but only if you dial down the pressure considerably

But good point...may not be worth the risk....may be easier to paint.

I have never had an electric one but power wise gas is better and I cant imagine dragging a damn electric cord all over the place, its bad enough dragging the damn garden house all over as it is.

This was my conundrum. For things I use often I have no problem with a gasoline engine. If it's something that gets used intermittently and sometimes not for months at a time I'm going electric.

I don't know of any electric pressure washers that have gotten even mediocre reviews. I hate mine, but I own it because it was a better option than dropping 300 on a gas one that I'd use once a year at most.

The condo association just purchased a 2700 psi that is powered by a Subaru motor. It works great so far.

I suggest you let someone else do it.

You won't use it that much and it takes up too much space.

I have a gasoline powered DeVilbiss 2400 psi with a Honda 5.0 small engine. It runs like a champ. I use it to power wash my deck before treating it with water sealer. It's also great for washing the steel siding on the house, and all the aluminum awnings and vinyl windows. I basically give my house a bath every summer. Keeps the siding looking new that way. I think I paid around $300 for it at Home Depot about five or six years ago. Well worth the money. You need to keep in indoors, somewhere warm during the winter months. Bad for the water pump to freeze. I just empty out all the gas and store it in my heated garage.
