I'm pretty sure the Pope isn't always infallible. He has to be speaking ex cathedra, which they rarely do.

Don't think his statement was made "the right way" so to speak, such that it's deemed that he couldn't be wrong.

Shut your heathen mouth! HE IS THE VICAR OF CHRIST!

There you go!
After that you used the word redemption but I still said salvation. Obviously, that's what I was talking about.

Still,I didn't see you calling out Brainiac for being ignorant and it's obvious he thought it meant salvation too. And still did after all the dust settled.

Really, then why would I validate the poster who did bother to explain Francis? Nope, you're wrong. I followed along just fine...but I was obviously talking about there being no salvation outside the Catholic Church which still holds and has never changed.

The fact remains, your first post (http://www.chiefsplanet.com/BB/showp...53&postcount=9 ) does not bother to clarify the point right away. And at least, I was referring to salvation. I went and looked up afterwards what Francis actually did say and it did fall in line, but was reported sloppily.

Really, I never read it because Satan was working on you based on your childish emotional outburst in antagonism and name calling. I avoid that character when he's working overtime.

BAM! CHOAD!

I think Slag was the one who actually got both sides of this right:

and

I agree the news outlets attempted to make is sound this way....even if Francis never really said it that way based on checking it.
My God, you never cease to amaze me how incredibly stupid you are.

You can't differentiate between my responding to your off topic post about salvation and my posts that directly addressed the issue. It isn't worth my effort to keep trying to dumb things down for you.

The people who can read above a third grade level know what's up with your nonsense.

Compatibilism isn't really a fringe view, but it's far from popular. It presents several issues with the classic view of God, and morality, and the idea of evil. It only makes sense if you warp the meaning of "Free will".
I think this is going to be the basic point of contention... a fundamental difference in defining free will. I would posit that YOUR view is "warped." In reality it's just a different perspective.

You used the word "salvation" right in your own rebuttal of my stand on it.

I am not claiming that I was aware of some difference in collective salvation ( redemption) or personal salvation. I didn't until that other poster stated it very clearly. All I am saying is I was still talking about salvation—and you even refuted that. Evidence below:

Buc's contention that the Church teaching has always been that ONLY Catholics can achieve salvation.
Not only that BUT many others in that thread took it the same way. I don't see you calling them dumb or ignorant.

The people who can read above a third grade level know what's up with your nonsense too. Like your plastic gun you thought was developed technology—when it wasn't yet. I read just fine, when I actually read something. I admit to skim reading for speed at times....which is where I have made mistakes.

I think we're running a tangent to the thread topic anyway. Perhaps another time we'll revisit the discussion....

Perhaps we will and perhaps we won't. That's our choice to make. God already knows whether we will revisit the topic. He has already seen us make our choice in the time that we call the future.
