NSA collecting phone records of millions of Americans daily

From the Guardian

Quote:
The order, a copy of which has been obtained by the Guardian, requires Verizon on an "ongoing, daily basis" to give the NSA information on all telephone calls in its systems, both within the US and between the US and other countries.
Quote:
The secret Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court (Fisa) granted the order to the FBI on April 25, giving the government unlimited authority to obtain the data for a specified three-month period ending on July 19.

Under the terms of the blanket order, the numbers of both parties on a call are handed over, as is location data, call duration, unique identifiers, and the time and duration of all calls. The contents of the conversation itself are not covered.

our government is a joke. a big hilarious joke.

and not to hijack (because I dont't want to), but how can anyone support the government imposing more gun control, when they couldn't even manage their way out of a wet bag.

No, I don't have an answer. I am sure you are attempting at something like Communism equals atheism. But otherwise you have me totally lost on your point.

When the government wants information from you, they take it secretly. When the government is asked about why they did things the way they do they take the 5th.

Are you really this stupid, partisan or both?

A Republican started this program. You can thank or blame George W. and your fellow Republicans if you don't like this program.

I'm not sure why it matters who started the program. If I move into a house, and the last dog crapped the floor, I don't vacuum around the crap and hope that someone else takes responsibility for it.

Whatever you want to say about who started the program, Obama, himself, is defending it saying that it's proper and necessary.

You bring up a very interesting angle in all of this. We have been told that no record of back ground checks for gun purchases has been kept. Does anyone actually still believe that?

Bush is an asshole for staring up the TSA and homeland security. All the alfabits ie FBI, CIA etc all failed in their responsibilities and to this day not one pig from those agencies has been held accountable. Not one.

And Bush's response to 911? Let's create another useless, worthless, money sucking beauracracy.

And I knew then these agencies were never gonna go after muslim terrorists, they were going to be used to go after law abiding American citizens, and that's exactly what happened.

But BigRedAnus' hero Barry campaigned exclusively (before the economy conveniently imploded) on reforming the patriot act, wiretapping phones etc

He's a lying sack of shit, he's a criminal, I've been saying it since that hideous fat **** Orcah put him on her show THIS GUY IS NO DAMN GOOD but the communists knew they could fly their guy under the radar because anybody who dared show what was so obvious THAT HE WAS A RACIST, CORRUPT SCUMBAG who crawled out of mayor daley's asshole in Chicongo would be character assassinated and attacked and destroyed.

So now you see the disaster that has befallen our nation.

You know a few years ago, Donger said America was strong and we would indeed survive this bastard.

Well he's wrong. This country is done. The communists and their Vichy Regime enablers have destroyed it.

My point was not absolve Obama of guilt. He could have stopped the program, he didn't. But, I don't think the Republicans would have allowed him to stop it anyway. Just like closing Gitmo.

The point is that this is a national security vs. personal freedom issue. Not an Obama issue.

This will also continue under the next President. Just saying.......

It will certainly continue if everybody keeps defending the corruption of their party of choice.
