Time to geek out.
What are you looking forward too?

I'm looking forward to more on the PlayStation 4, a competent Vita lineup, and some NHL 14 news.

Think of it in Xbox360/PS3 terms. Developers design games for the Xbox b/c it's easier to design for, and more gamers on the XBox to take advantage of early release content. By the time it's ported to the PS3, it's not quiet the same quality.

Developers aren't going to let the Xbone's limitations hinder what they can do on the PS4. Not the good ones anyway...

Console games always run at steady FPS, there is no video lag.

How is this possible? How after 8+ years Microsoft cannot figure out how to build a console that won't cause overheating issues, and Sony can build a smaller system and have a quicker cpu? Also looking at it, the PS4 has quicker RAM than X1 and I read a report that on paper, the PS4 is 50% faster than the X1, but that developers code for the lowest possible denominator, and the X1 may keep down the next gen games graphically.

Which makes for the same damn problem we had this generation. Everything had to be ported from xbox to ps3 because xbox was the weaker system and ps3 was harder to develop for. Hence why ps3 game generally didn't look as good as the xbox counterpart but PS3 exclusives looked damn AMAZING and blew anything xbox had out of the water.

Xbox boss Don Mattrick says when compared to other modern products, $500 is not a "ridiculous" price point.

Microsoft's Xbox boss Don Mattrick has spoken out to defend the Xbox One's $500 price point, saying the company is in fact over-delivering value with the next-generation system.

"It's a lower number than some of the analysts had forecasted," Mattrick said on Bloomberg TV. "We're over-delivering value against other choices I think consumers can get. Any modern product these days you look at it [and] $499 isn't a ridiculous price point. We're delivering thousands of dollars of value to people, so I think they're going to love it when they use it."

Competitor Sony will offer its PlayStation 4 at $400 this holiday season, but Mattrick believes consumers will choose Xbox One for its suite of exclusive services and applications like an improved Xbox Live, as well as Skype, Twitch TV, SmartGlass, and Kinect.

"We're really making the living room your center of fun for your family," Mattrick said.

Also in the interview, Mattrick refers to the new Xbox One Halo title as Halo 5. This game was announced during Microsoft's E3 briefing last week only as "Halo Xbox One."

Every Xbox One will include a Kinect 2.0 sensor, while PS4 gamers will need to pay $60 to purchase a PlayStation Eye camera.

No it is still $40 cheaper. It is also still an unnecessary addon.

I'm not sure about TOO much value, but the price isn't bad. $399 for the system + $100 for Kinect 2.0. The issue is people don't want to be forced to buy something they don't necessarily want even if MS is making it a requirement for the system.

I see the two major issues with Xbox One as being the requirement for Kinect & the daily verification. If I had the choice, I wouldn't have Kinect. My kids enjoy it from time to time, but not enough to get the moneys worth out of it.

But, it's got a lot of cool features as well. The one I like the most is not needing discs to play on whatever console you are on - that's really enticing to me with a family of 6 and 2 consoles.

I keep asking myself this question as well. You would think with all the issues they had with the 360 & since they corrected the problem with the 360 that it would be a top priority with the Xbox One.

I really doubt there is going to be a huge difference. Bf4 devs said it will run 60fps on both systems. I'm sure most games will, and I would be suprised if you see huge quality differences on cross platform games.
