Again.

And self defense my ass - she threw a bottle and he retaliated. Self-defense means he was trying to protect himself and diffuse a situation. Retaliation means he just got pissed and hit her.

If she was picking up another bottle or looking to throw some blows, then you might be right, but c'mon -we've all seen this type of crazy. This is a trashy bitch that got uppity, threw her bottle and was gonna storm off and be queen of the skanks for the night.

And Jones gave her 5 across the face for it. She's a lunatic, but he's still a damn moron.
What does him being a millionaire have to do with anything? It doesn't matter if you're penniless or you're Bill Gates, it someone throws a beer bottle at your head, and you retaliate, I'm not going to blame you. It doesn't matter what your salary is.

He has a livelihood he needs to keep an eye on and with any luck, continue to build. With the money he's made, he's no doubt established a standard of living that he hopes to continue for some time. To do so, he needs to not end up in the papers because of stuff like this.

His money makes him a target - sorry but them's the trappings of fame.

It does matter what his salary is if he hopes to continue making it. NFL teams will not sally this shit, not with his history.

How would slapping her help a person making $40,000 a year's situation?

I've just never understood the whole "He has a lot of money so he should accept being dehumanized" argument.

Someone throws a bottle at your head point blank, you're going to react. Period.

You're more than welcome to operate in a normative setting if you'd like.

But the bottom line is that, if you have a shitload to lose, you'd better think long and hard before keepin' it real.

Because it's going to hurt you a hell of a lot more than it will hurt most of us, especially those of us that don't operate in the public eye.

It doesn't have anything to do with "keepin' it real". It has to do with a ****ing beer bottle thrown at your head.

It is valid point that someone with lots of money might be willing to give a little cash to make shit go away, it's happened many times. I don't believe Jones is that well off at this point anyway. If he keeps kicking butt and gets a nice new contract than maybe. There are also people that might say that it was just a female, he should not even be involved in an argument with her. Women do get a lot of benefit of the doubt opinions.

Eh. You don't know that. You've never been in a situation where people ask to take pictures with you everywhere you go. Celebrities refuse taking pictures often. Sometimes you just want to have fun and not have people bugging you to sign autographs and take pictures every couple minutes.
