Rubio can bag it along with FatChristie

http://washingtonexaminer.com/marco-...rticle/2531504

In a Spanish-language interview Sunday with the network Univision, Sen. Marco Rubio, the leading Republican on the Gang of Eight comprehensive immigration reform group, made his strongest statement yet that legalization of the nation’s estimated 11 million illegal immigrants must happen before any new border security or internal enforcement measures are in place, and will in no way be conditional on any security requirements.

“Let’s be clear,” Rubio said. “Nobody is talking about preventing the legalization. The legalization is going to happen. That means the following will happen: First comes the legalization. Then come the measures to secure the border. And then comes the process of permanent residence.”

Typical Washington, typical politician. They concoct elaborate ways to do nothing. And garner votes in the process. That is all they care about.

Rubio had so much potential. But he can eat a bag of dicks if his idea is to legalize 11 million law breakers and Do NOT ONE DAMN THING to stop the next wave of 5 million illegal Mexicans who will swarm the border as soon as they can get to it to suck at the new fresh tit of US taxpayers.

Bush was not a guy who appealed to moderates. He was very unpopular. There is no way a hard line republican wins in a world where moderates and undecideds are growing in numbers.

I'm fine with the direction Ron Paul has steered the right to. But the idea that an extreme conservative has any chance of winning is so overplayed. Given the gridlock in Washington, the candidate with the best chance is the one who knows how to get things done, and sorry, but given how much the right loves the business community, any good businessperson knows that you get things done by negotiation.

Bush was not a hard line conservative or right winger. He was a progressive.
Your claim of "moderates" is bunk. It depends on what it means. It's just your opinion. It's libertarianism that is growing in numbers.

Our Framers, per this, would be extreme. They are rolling over in their graves at this.
Polls show more that more people think our govt is doing too much.

That's bs. His numbers climbed when he let his son and wife run the campaign and he started to attack Obama as being too liberal.

More than anything, he lost the most votes because he was forced to tow the party line on ridiculously stupid right wing politics that decided to make immigration, gay rights and birth ccontrol election issues. How many votes did he lose from women, hHispanics, and gay people on these issues, issues that he never seemed to want to bring up?

Chiefzilla, you need to bag it with Rubio and FatChristie too. You're for the oligarchs of the Establishment who are more hated daily.

Yeah, sure his numbers climbed when he attacked Obama as too liberal. But not enough. More people saw it as BS. How can you attack a guy on mandatory health care when you are the 1 guy in the entire country who also enacted mandatory health care?

He was a complete mess as a candidate--he was a liberal conservative (by his record) that had to act ultra conservative, and in the process turned off everyone. His competition in the primaries were a group of complete nutjobs and/or scumbags and he looked like the only sane guy in the room.

My guess is he will say he misspoke or if he was speaking in Spanish it was translated wrong. I will also be surprised if he even votes for the bill he helped write.

But I admit it is kind of funny reading the conservative blogs user comments exploding over what he said.

The GOP won the married women vote. I think you are referring to single women.

Even the single ladies weren't impacted whatsoever by the 2012 campaign anyway. They voted (67%) the same exact way they did in 2008 (70%). The rape comments didn't make one bit of difference.

Nationally maybe not much but it destroyed Mourdock and Akin chances of winning Senate seats

Rot in hell.

McConnell and Sens. John Cornyn (Texas), Kelly Ayotte (N.H.), Deb Fischer (Neb.), Rob Portman (Ohio), John Thune (S.D.), Orrin Hatch (Utah), Jeff Chiesa (N.J.), Roger Wicker (Miss.), Thad Cochran (Miss.), Pat Toomey (Pa.), Lamar Alexander (Tenn.), John Hoeven (N.D.), Richard Burr (N.C.), Rand Paul (Ky.), Susan Collins (Maine), Jerry Moran (Kan.), Roy Blunt (Mo.), Dan Coats (Ind.), Dean Heller (Nev.) and Saxby Chambliss (Ga.) were among the Republicans who voted to advance the bill.
