Would you let a transgender girl to use a public school girl bathroom?

It is in elementary school.

Lawyers for a transgender girl and an elementary school that required the fifth-grader to use a staff bathroom instead of the girls restroom clashed before Maine's highest court Wednesday over whether her rights were violated, a case that lays bare the difficult decisions facing school administrators...

Closed minded parents will just have to deal with their bigotry. No one cares what they think. This is the new education. Parents dont matter. Its a LGBT day!!! Grab some wierdness and rock on

I say that instead of having "Men's" and "Women's" restroom, we can have "Biologically a Man" and "Biologically a Woman".

So, what happens when he decides that he is a girl that likes girls? He also would not be allowed to play female sports. You may want to be a girl, but you just aren't.

'M' or 'F'? Outdated IDs worry transgender people

SAN FRANCISCO—Lauren Grey didn't think much about the gender recorded on her Illinois driver's license until she went to test-drive a new car. Although she had been living as a woman for months and easily obtained a license with her new name and a picture reflecting her feminine appearance, Grey's ID still identified her as male, puzzling the salesmen and prompting uncomfortable questions.

"They are like, 'This doesn't match.' Then you have to go into the story: 'I was born male, but now I'm not,'" said Grey, 38, a graphic designer living in suburban Chicago. "And they are like, 'What does that mean?' It was super embarrassing." Similarly awkward conversations ensued when she tried to rent an apartment, went to bars or was taken out of airport security lines for inspection.

Most U.S. residents don't think twice about the gender printed on their government-issued documents. But those "M" or "F" markers—and the legal and administrative prerequisites for switching them on passports, birth certificates and other forms of identification—are a source of anxiety and, even, discrimination for transgender individuals...

It's strange and it's probably not something that any of us are used to dealing with, but dealing with it is better than creating more homeless children:

America’s shame: 40 percent of homeless youth are LGBT kids

You think this website could be biased in anyway?

I think so without question.

Well of course it's biased. I think it would almost have to be.

Gives more credence to the nurture explanation than the nature explanation. Seems like lack of a stable home-life contributes to confusion and identity issues.

I have no research to back me up, but my first thought was that LGBT kids are less likely to find parent and sibling support and would therefore be more likely to leave home (voluntarily or otherwise). I'd find it difficult to believe that family instability causes same sex attraction or gender identity questions.

That's exactly backwards if I understand you correctly. According to the those statistics kids are being kicked out because they are gay, not gay because they are being kicked out.
