Sebelius is batshit crazy

The crazy death angel from Kansas may be insane. First she ignores any humanity she may have had and Denys a life saving operation for a 10 year old. Too bad for death panel Kathleen, courts ruled for the child and she got her transplant . Bummer for the old bat.

Then she rolls this one out.....kids who don't get pre school from birth to age 5 may need to drop out of school by third grade.

Insane bitch.

(CNSNews.com) – Children who don’t get a pre-kindergarten education, ideally from birth to age 5, might fall behind and “may as well drop out” by third grade, Secretary of Health and Human Services Kathleen Sebelius said on Wednesday at an event to garner support for President Barack Obama’s $75-billion proposal to increase pre-school enrollment across the country.

Sebelius said investing in pre-school education would bring “prosperity to all our people.”

“If we want to be a competitive country, if we want to make sure that we can achieve prosperity for all of our people, we have to figure out a way to have productive citizens throughout our population,” Sebelius said at the event, marking the one-year anniversary of an Educare school in the District of Columbia that serves children 6 weeks old to 5 years.

I take it to mean that if kids don't get education from BIRTH till age five to start out life, then they are screwed and might as well drop out of school by the third grade. Where am I wrong in my perception of her statement?

I read it as a statement that if kids don't start learning until they show up for Kindergarden then they're going to be well behind not only their peers internationally but also domestically.

I think it's a fair statement to say that the dipshits who dropped out of high school when I was there were probably easily identifiable at third grade, and that you could bet that they weren't reading before they showed up at the bus stop for the first time.

Her statement, while presented out of context, seems to be a blunt assessment of things.

You know, before we let shitty American cultures ruin them and their adult lives before they even have the capacity to make rational life choices for themselves.

"Might as well", doesn't imply being forced to. She has a point. Many, many, many dropouts "complete" a majority of their schooling, but by the time they are able to dropout have trouble with the English language(their native language), and simple math. So in essence, they never really moved past the 3rd grade.

Instead they wasted taxpayers money, teachers time, and b/c they were so far behind and "lost", they disrupt class and make it harder for kids who are there for an education to learn.

She certainly isn't suggesting that we kick them out. Just that by the time the average dropout gets to school, their parents have already neglected them to the point where they are doomed to fall behind and get passed through the system.

Her statement was made as part of a pitch for 75 billion freaking dollars in new spending for new federal programs to fund "education" for newborn to 5 years old. $75 BILLION. Get your head around that? WTF do you do with 75 billion. How many Richard Scarey books do we buy? How many versions of Marcie the happy Moose?

The Fed Govt should stick to things like keeping phone records and harrassing peolle through the IRS. They have pretty well ****ed up all other areas of education they have gotten involved in.

I could even agree with some of this. One, I don't see her suggesting that people should be forced out of school by third grade if they don't get early childhood education. I do see here suggesting that if the government can't save them, nobody can. I didn't need the government to raise my kids, nor did my parents need them to raise me. You may disagree, but I turned out just fine. This was a general statement about ALL kids, not "at risk" kids. She's painting everyone with a broad brush, as progressives tend to do. There is no individual. Only the collective, which must be shaped at an early age by the government. This BUGS me...

Also, saying that kids might as well drop out of school if they don't get the government education she is advocating means that kids will be worthless without their help. It's like people who advocate abortions because the child looks like it would be born with defects or other problems. That's where I say to the government...GO **** YOURSELVES! Tend to your responsibilities, and I'll tend to mine.

It's just a huge difference in the perception of what the government should be doing, and how good they are at doing it. They do too much as it is and they suck at it. So no, I don't trust this crazy woman's supposedly insightful statement. I think more deeply than just the words when I hear this type of stuff.

So you're saying that if we tax religions, we can just about pay for it in one measly year.

I was sticking my comments to her statements on education...not the overall size of the funding. Chill out. It's Friday afternoon.

Oh, and according to the top result (which admttadly is Think Progress) the $75 Billion over 10 years comes from a federal cigarette tax.

Not saying that's good or bad..but some proponents of a sales tax based tax system may feel differently about it with that in mind.

I don't have kids. I voted "yes" in 2008 when they wanted to raise my property tax to fund education, because I believe education is a good thing. One year later, the news was full of stories about how they were going to cut sports and music programs if the schools didn't get more money.

I'm done paying for your ****ing kids.

As far as birth through age 5, that's the parents responsibility. It sure as **** isn't mine.
