Car people of CP... I need a new car.

My Focus SVT's transmission just bit the dust and I am tired of putting money into this damn car. Gonna buy a new one and drive that ****er off the lot.

I would prefer a 2 door car. Hatch is a plus.
I need the car to be sporty/fast as I do autocross.
Manual gearbox.
Around 25k to spend or so.
No GM products.

Suggestions?

Sorry, the V6 is 30k.

Not a whole lotta wiggle on the 25k. I'm expecting to get around 2500-3k for my car in its current condition. I'd like then end price to be at or below 25k.

Makes it tough, but I will do some thinking.

I would throw a vote in for Honda CR-Z, but i don't think it's much of a racer.

I was going to see how you liked it. CR-Z isn't a bad way to go.

Probably the top 3 I would go for considering your criteria, I believe all have been on Car and Drivers 10 best (possibly not the Fiesta, but most are raving about the new ST.)

5-7 horse power per sticker is what a Jegs employee told me (off the clock of course). So if you get a K&N filter (good for 75 horses) and then had a handful of those stickers you are talking about 100 extra horses! Bad ass!
