Obama administration suing to force companies to hire criminals

Apparently being a convicted criminal is now a protected class:

http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2013...al-background/

Seems silly to me....if a company does not wish to hire employees with a criminal record, they should not be forced too. Is Obama going to cover the business's losses when a criminal decides to help himself to the cash register?

There are degrees of mistakes, which is precisely the point you seem unwilling to acknowledge or comprehend.

The verbiage of your post alone indicates this bias. People convicted of misdemeanors are "ex-cons" but they are entirely different types of "ex-cons" than a convicted murderer, pedophile, or rapist.

Yes there are degrees. I didn't think it was necessary to describe every possible crime for which someone could be convicted. That's not bias, it's brevity.

I think the people who are in the best position to balance labor needs with labor requirements/risks are the employers, not the federal government. If they turn away a bunch of jaywalkers who would have made better employees than the rest of the available applicants, they will have to pay the consequences of that bad choice.

Did I say something that was a nearly word for word paraphrase of something Ailes said just a few days ago?

In case you weren't aware of it, Bill Ayers did an interview a week or two ago in which he said Obama should be tried for war crimes, but then went on to say that the same is true for every other president during his lifetime. I know you're not Ayers, but that plus the fact that you're in the same line of work as Ayers seemed like an interesting coincidence.

Your every post?

Totally unaware of the Bill Ayers interview, but it's not exactly a revolutionary claim. Chomsky said similar things 25+ years ago.

Criminal records should be expunged after 5 years if the individual has committed no more crimes.

even an eviction , bankruptcy etc lasts longer

there is already a process in place to expunge crimes

the public deserves to know who has committed crimes, it is public record

For a certain time, yes. If an individual no longer lives the life that precipitated the crimes, then the criminal record should be expunged after 5 years.

Why? Do you think everyone deserves a second chance, and a chance as equal as someone that has worked hard and kept their nose clean?

Stupid idea. No, incredibly stupid.

It's a great idea and should be implemented by force if necessary.
