Kaepernick pulls a Steve Bono

How ya like him now, SF? By "doin this", I'm not sure if he means rocking another teams' gear or grinding for his teammates.

The 49ers majority are so hungry for a qb that the world respects, ala Joe, or Steve, definitely not Alex, that this is essentially a kick in the nuts for Niner fans. There are those idiot niner fans who will say this is no big deal, because they cant swing hard enough from this guys nuts. If it were Alex Smith, the implosion would be 10000x worse. They would of probably burned the guys house down......

His expression in that pic doesn't help him much. He'd have been better off not saying anything about it at all.

Thankfully, Alex Smith doesn't wear Dolphins gear, so we essentially ****ed those idiots in the trade. Bet they're sorry...

He's a kid.

At what point to do stop putting kid athletes on pedestals in this country?

He can be held accountable without being on a pedestal. These are indeed mutually exclusive.

Not to mention if I were the guy writing his checks, the one with the Niner logo on them, I would be ****ing pissed.

Does the "hat" effect what happens on the field? No other than it brings his intelligence into question and if you dont understand that, dont know what to tell you.

And like I stated if Alex Smith did that you would have a ****ing field day with it.

These arguments are asinine. The 49ers sign his checks...at a RIDICULOUS discount. Cut his ass, and he goes from making $700k to $7m overnight. The 49ers aren't doing him a favor.

...and it's nothing like signing a deal with Nike and wearing Adidas. He is paid to play football, not make fashion statements in the offseason. He had no choice as to who drafted him. As long as he wears the right helmet on Sundays, his baseball cap collection is meaningless.

Really?

I worked at Universal for years. No one "hated" Warner Brothers or Sony. I worked at Paramount for almost a decade and no one hated Uni or WB.

I just find this kind of thinking to be outdated, especially in a time when people change jobs so frequently.

The loyalty is to yourself, not to a corporation.

Accountable for what, exactly?

Did he break any rules? I mean, for ****'s sake, the NFL has a shit ton of rules and ridiculous contracts (and constraints on their players, I might add).

For what should he be held accountable?

Absolutely. I mean, ****, teams haven't had bounties out on opposing teams' QBs for years, despite recent hypocrisy citing otherwise, so I'd love to wear someone else's gear.

The truth is, however, that the stupid ****ing hat probably matched his board shorts. He wasn't thinking about it, got called out, and then snapped a stupid ****ing picture. Shit happens.

Or, like Drew Brees, Peyton Manning and so many others, Dan Marino was his favorite QB growing up, so the Dolphins are dear to his heart.

Very little.

He needs to be told to quit posting potentially antagonist shit to social media sites. Aside from this, it's pretty much a non-issue in terms of team involvement.

...or what? If you work for Coke and get fired, you're job hunting. If Kapernick gets cut, his phone immediately starts ringing off the hook with teams begging to pay him 10x what he's currently making.

This is not Coke versus Pepsi. Coke and Pepsi aren't the same corporation. They don't run advertisements from a pooled fund to promote soft drinks. They don't agree to some set of rules to ensure that their sales are as even as possible. They don't swap employee contracts. There is nothing about this analogy that is pertinent.
