Panthers: “This Time We’re Going Out To Whitey’s Suburbs and Burning Down HIS Community”
In preparation for the possibility of an acquittal of George Zimmerman, The New Black Panther Party has reportedly begun a mobilization campaign to target white communities.

According to a recent post on Sodahead, leader Samir Shabazz and the New Black Panthers are preparing to take the fight directly to those guilty of murdering Trayvon Martin – white people living in suburbs all over America.

“This time we’re doing it right… This time we’re not burning down our communities. This time we’re going out to Whitey’s suburbs and burning down HIS community. We’re going to make Whitey feel the pain.”

Seems like the two main right-wing predictions going into the trial were that:

1. Obama/Holder/the judge/unknown evil liberals WOULD NOT ALLOW an acquittal.

2. In the very unlikely event of an acquittal, there would be riots like we've never seen before.

Accurate as usual.

Don't kid yourself, BRC. Your neighbors are the ones who opted for middle classness and turned their back on blackness that Rev. Jeramiah Wright was preaching against.

I think your perception is skewed. Most of the talk of rioting seemed to start with minorities and liberals as far as I could tell.

And conservatives were the ones who said that Zimmerman shouldn't have been tried and should be acquitted in a fair trial while liberals were and still are calling it murder.

We'll have to wait and see if the left wing predictions come true - that this verdict set civil rights back 50 years and tells the nation that it's ok to go out and kill black children.

Oh I know. But thats not about acting "white" or turning your back on the hood. It's not about skin color, everyone in our neghborhood just chose to better our stations in life. I doubt there is any inherited money in my neighborhood. Everyone made their own way to here. It's definitely not a black and white issue.

It's not a skin color issue and I'm not being critical of your neighbors or suggesting that they didn't earn their social status. But from the point of view of the Jeramiah Wrights of the world, it is a blackness vs middleclassness issue. That view holds that your black neighbors have been co-opted by the "captors" (white people) through their pursuit of middle-classness. They've turned their backs on the victimized people from which they came. It's standard black liberation theology.

I agree. That theology can be as destructive as the racism that pushed them into embracing extremism. IMHO, no one gains a damn thing by embracing extremism.

Thats kind of the point in living in a neighborhood with different backgrounds than yourself. They didn't grow up in the Ozarks. You see and hear personal stories of how they lived their life's to this point. Most grew up poor as I did. How they made their decisions and why in life has value to me.
