Where are you getting these numbers? Albert allowed 3 more sacks than Clady over the last 3 seasons, 7 more sacks over their careers. This is despite the fact that Clady has played 800 snaps (almost a full season) more than Albert.

His pass blocking and his reliability are why he is getting paid more than Albert could ever hope.

I will say this -- Branden Albert showed much improved kick step technique last season, but his foot speed during lateral movement is still much too slow. as a result, he is often seen reaching out to block a guy. It's always been like this with him and that is why he's a better fit for LG. as a guard he doesn't need to make quick lateral moves covering large areas.

that is something Clady has in spades too, is good quick lateral movement. good quick feet.

I hope Albert does sign long term for the Chiefs and we have our bookend tackles for years to come so no excuses not to draft a freaking quarterback.

No. Clady has allowed 2 fewer sacks.

And he did not blow out his knee. The patellar tendon isn't nearly as vital as an ACL.

Both are very good LTs.

This. Why does anyone care how they spend their money? Albert is a very good player and the Chiefs need to keep him. The first overall pick hasn't played a down and has proven nothing.

Why do you trust STATS more than PFF?

I'm not trying to be condescending or anything, I just don't know why why it would be preferable. I like PFF's transparency, they tell you exactly how they derive their stats. I can't find anything similar in regard to STATS.

Anyway, it doesn't change any of the reasons I gave for why Clady will get more money than Albert.

IMHO, John Alt was a good bit better than Clady is. I think Alt was one of the most underappreciated players of his time.

PFF was founded by a foreigner who has never played a down of football and who didn't see a live professional football game until he was in his 40s. He designed the way they compile their stats and everyone at PFF is trained to those specifications.

Gee, I don't know why anyone would question their stats.

PFF provides useable metrics but stats and metrics never provide the entire story.

PFF is just a bunch of normal guys and volunteers watching regular tv feeds. STATS is a legitimate stats keeping company partially owned by Associated Press.
