Charles somewhat injured?

Once again the Kansas City Chiefs got away from using Jamaal Charles in the second half of Sunday's game against the Arizona Cardinals. It seems like it happens frequently where the Chiefs use Charles heavily in the first half and then for whatever reason they get away from him in the second half. In the case of Charles on Sunday, we chalked it up to the injury he suffered in the game.

Charles went down when his legs were bent awkwardly -- the replays were scary for a Chiefs fan -- but returned to the game. Andy Reid said on Monday that Charles was tender coming off the game.

"His knee swelled up, the same one that he had hurt last week," Reid said. "And the ankle that he had sprained earlier in the year, he had some issues with that on that one play during the game. And so he's a bit tender today."

Reid also said that in the game Charles was not 100 percent -- not that anyone is this time of year -- but that despite that he still could've gotten the ball more in Sunday's game. That marks the 93rd straight game a coach has left a game saying Charles should have touched it more (or something like that).

The Chiefs need to be careful how they handle him down the stretch. We all want Jamaal to touch it as much as possible but we all also want him healthy enough to be on the field. This is something to monitor down the stretch, perhaps by giving Knile Davis more carries.

If only we had another guy that could run the ball, like in the playoff game when Charles went down.

We need to tank the rest of the season and I'm matched up against Jamaal this week in fantasy so Andy needs to sit him down.

Andy: Alright. Nice job. *looks to the OC*…let’s get Jamaal out of there. Get me the next RB.

Davis : Yeah coach?

Andy: alright Kevin, here’s what we’re gonna do”

Davis: Knile

Andy: What?

Davis: Knile. That’s my name. Knile

Andy: whatever. So listen Nelson, they’re gonna load up the box and run an A-gap run blitz. So I need you to be ready to bounce that ouside. Got it Kevin?

Davis: ….yeah. I got it

Andy: attaboy Conner.

We should just put a center, Alex, Kelce, and Jamaal out on the field. No linemen, no WR's. None of them do anything anyway. On 2nd thought, Jamaal can probably throw a checkdown to himself or to Kelce, so there's really no need for Alex either.

Nothing would change.

I saw that the Saints just cut WR Joe Morgan, we should bring him in. We need all the help we can get.

As long as our playoff hopes are alive, he needs to play as much as he can.

Charles being "not 100%" doesn't excuse throwing Smith 30+ times, we have a capable backup that got 1 carry for 4 yards on Sunday. It's about Reid doing his job first.
