You guys are so lucky you have options up there. Nothing in Tulsa. Nothing. They opened a "KC Smokehouse BBQ" here. I ate there last weekend. It sucked.

Important note: If you can't have a beer with your BBQ, the soda of choice is Strawberry. For some unknown reason, it is a perfect match with BBQ. It just is. And you have to have dill pickle chips as a garnish. They are critical.

I'll take this information into consideration next time I eat some good BBQ.

Sort of. Very nearly. Though IIRC your position was that they were never really good in the first place (compared to what one can make at home, devoting their whole attention).

This thread just made me remember something. I haven't been to Arthur Bryant's in about five years, but I remember getting some red soda that was amazing with the bbq. I don't think it was strawberry, but I could be wrong. Anyone know what that was?

Occasionally I yield to peer pressure and go there anyway with my regular lunch group at work. We attempted to eat there yesterday, but when we arrived at 11:20 the parking lot was full and the line was practically out the door. So we left and went to Rosedale BBQ instead.

So I got credit for agreeing to eat at Oklahoma Joe's, and then I got to enjoy MUCH BETTER barbecue at Rosedales.

WIN.
Rosedale BBQ is the worst I have tried in all of kc. Terrible.
