You're a Chiefs fan, yet you have an opinion on the Broncos. Isn't that odd?

Of course. You don't? Coulter has 20 years of political journalism experience, a law degree from Michigan, and she's sold 10,000x more books than this guy. In what way is she less of an authority in her field?

Good job.

You actually think a guy who got his PhD with a thesis on the history of jihadism, who studied historical religious texts like the Markan tradition and some of the apocrypha in prior degrees, who basically spent his entire academic career researching historical traditions in religion, is someone who cannot claim they have studied the history of religions?

And his actual words:
I don't necessarily buy the criticism that he misrepresented his credentials, but his actual words included a claim that he had a PhD in the History of Religion, which I gather is technically inaccurate.

Uh, no she doesn't. She has 20 years experience of giving her opinion on political issues and inventing a false reality to try to make her point. Typically it is done in a mean-spirited way and is meant to convince you that she is correct and anyone who doesn't agree is an idiot or a communist or a facist. She's BEP.

If you can't recognize the difference between her and someone who writes a serious and thoroughly-researched biography you're either clueless or have seriously overplayed your troll card.

The main difference here seems to be your antipathy toward Coulter.

I think that's the main difference informing your conclusion. IMO, you're refusing to give Coulter the respect she deserves. And given that the issue is whether or not particular interview styles/questions are appropriate, I don't think any of the other differences between the two are very important.

There's a lot of posts on here supporting the questioning why a Muslim would write a book "about Christianity."

I haven't read the book, but my understanding is that it is not a book "about Christianity" but is meant to be a biography of Jesus himself. Some will probably say the topics can't be seperated, but there is a difference. His life can be examined without making statements on the religion that spread following his death.

Also, Jesus is considered a prophet to Muslims, so it isn't completely outrageous that a Muslim would be interested in learning and writing about him.

It's outrageous if the motivation is outrageous, but it certainly doesn't have to be. That's why asking about the motivation makes sense.
