I went to bed the night of September 11th knowing that there had been trespassing and vandalism at the US embassy in Cairo and Yemen and other unrest in other Islamic countries because of the video on the internet or rumors of the video being blasphemous.

I also remember the riots that killed dozens in Nigeria after some beauty pageant promoter made some advertisement that was considered blasphemous.

And when there was outrage over the cartoons drawn by the Danish cartoonist, there were riots in Pakistan or Afghanistan were dozens more were killed by rioters.

The KC NPR station plays the BBC World Service on its overnight from midnight to 5 am, and if I wake up at night I hit the snooze bar and the radio plays for an hour. And so, the first I heard about the attack in Benghazi and the fact that Americans were killed was hearing a BBC report. The BBC report made it pretty clear that the sh*t going on in Lybia was much worse than the other embassy incidents that day.

I think I understood right away that we needed to find out who was responsible and get them.

That is a lot more important than the motivation of the people that did it, but it was obvious from the get go that some bad people killed our people.

I was just like every other American who never, ever thought that the killings resulted from everyday law-abiding Lybians who just lost their temper because of a blasphemous video, but who really just wanted to get along after all.

And the Sunday morning interviews were nearly two months before the election and Romney and the GOP had every opportunity to air out the lighter than a popcorn fart of a complaint that you are still making, and not one American voted for Obama because of watching the Sunday morning shows the week after Benghazi and being convinced of anything so I think you need to realize that you are the one being lied to and spreading the same stupid lies that you believe.

I know you are not too smart of a person, but do you think the State department did not have to monitor every situation in every Islamic country that day?

Anyway keep pissing and moaning about how Obama won an election because of his campaign's clever maneuvering on Benghazi. I would love your written explanation why you think that is so. Is there some exit polling from election day where people said that they voted for Obama because of Susan Rice's statements on some political news shows that only political nerds watch and every political nerd who watches knows that most of the political guests are full of sh*t most of the time?

And if Hillary runs in 2016, expect that she will win, so that is another reason for you to practice your piss and moan because most Americans know when people are trying to do a good job and the enemy strikes. And most Americans know that it is not right to try to use an enemy's killing of our people as a political opportunity. But, unfortunately for you, most Americans are not subjected to the same influences that you subject yourself to.
What we've found out is they knew right away that this wasn't about any video and that it was a terrorist attack so they lied to all of us just before an election. Since you now acknowledged the terrorist attack, I was just asking what you thought about how they lied to even you. Not sure what all the rest of your rambling is about but it had nothing to do with my question.

The progressive model is doomed for failure. The numbers can't be avoided.

The republicans need a conservative leader that can convince at least independents of that. I've voted for third party before and am not against the idea in the future.

What numbers are you referring to? If a progressive candidate was actually allowed to run on a ticket, they would probably win in a landslide. But it doesn't happen, because the primary system forces candidates to compromise their values and during the campaigning process, the two parties completely neuter their candidates.

I can guarantee a candidate who leans fiscally conservative and leans socially liberal would win in a landslide. Assuming they could ever get past the primary, which they won't.

A fiscally conservative and socially liberal candidate is no Progressive though. You make them sound the same here. Because I doubt a progressive would win on a ticket. Make up your mind.

Socially liberal here is talking about it from mostly social issues, which tend to be about gay rights, religion, abortion, birth control, etc.... A conservative who was open-minded on these issues would absolutely be progressive, but they would never win the ticket.

Progressive is supposed to be a movement against the status quo. Given the Washington gridlock, being a moderate in a world of polarizing extremes in both parties is progressive as well.

Thats all well and good, but do tell me what fiery phoenix is going to abruptly rise from the gop/edit-independent ashes to squash Hillary... Buehler, anyone, Buehler...

That candidate as of yet doesnt exist, the pubs are going to need a purebred miracle from Heaven to beat her i'm afraid... "we've had our first black president, now lets have our first woman, the tide of open minds is now is inescapable RAHHH"

Lets face it, the Dems are about to go on a 16 year run... God help us all, for those who love Hillary, please go read Partners in Power: The Clintons and Their America... it pulls no punches on either side, but surely makes those two sound like the power mad demagogues they are.

In spite of myself i still loved Bill after reading it, but the truth is that he is a snaaake and so is she for clinging along... they're part and parcel of the same group of elitist pukes who got us into this mess in the first place.

Unfortunately, it is currently the only way to win a primary with our messed up system.

Even if Romney had some personality issues, if he wasn't forced by the religious right to take a firm stance on abortion, birth control, gay marriage, and immigration (4 issues I think Romney was very hesitant to take a stance on), this would have been a different election. We were in the middle of an economic crisis with a President who independents believed was shaky in handling it, yet the base insisted on taking on unpopular positions (most of which were social positions that are small potatoes). That's why the conservative party is struggling, not because they are moving too progressively. A Republican candidate that took a moderate stance on those social issues would have destroyed Obama among independent voters.
