Charlie Rangel: Tea Party Is ‘Same Group’ Of ‘White Crackers’ Who Fought Civil Rights

http://livewire.talkingpointsmemo.co...-same-group-of

In an interview with the Daily Beast published Friday, Rep. Charlie Rangel (D-NY) suggested Tea Partiers are the "same group" who fought for segregation during the Civil Rights movement.

“It is the same group we faced in the South with those white crackers and the dogs and the police. They didn’t care about how they looked," Rangel said.

Because of this, Rangel said the Tea Party could be defeated using the same tactics employed against Jim Crow.

"It was just fierce indifference to human life that caused America to say enough is enough. ‘I don’t want to see it and I am not a part of it.’ What the hell! If you have to bomb little kids and send dogs out against human beings, give me a break,” said Rangel.

Care to provide evidence that he's anything short of hilarious.

Horse shit. Jesus, just pure horse shit.

Rangel is not trying to make a point even in the same neighborhood as 'how far from moderate' the tea party is, the lack of merit to such a point aside.

He's trying to equate tea party concerns with the concerns of white entrenched power and privilege who tried to maintain that racial imbalance with violence against innocents.

To make that equation, one has to be asserting, no matter how tacitly, that fiscal sanity is inherently explicitly and solely an assertion of white power. That government can only be fair to minorities if it flings free money at them without concern, planning, or remorse.

Neither you nor Rangel have provided a scintilla of evidence that;

tea partiers are entrenched power, or
tea partiers are asserting their entrenched power through violence against innocents.

To make your argument is akin to arguing that;

Kotter is an asshole
Charles Manson is also an asshole.
Therefore, Kotter is a disciple of Manson.
