Most Obamacare/Exchanges are live now. Get your quote

Most states and the government exchanges are online. You can get a quote now.
https://www.healthcare.gov/marketplace/

Looks like most of the major insurances are in there, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Humana, United Health care, Coventry, Aetna etc.

What price will Obamacare cost you?

My quote for my wife, son and myself from Coventry/United Health care

1500 Individual - 3000 Family deductible
2500 Maximum - 5000 Family maximum
No annual limits
No pre-existing conditions
$30 office visit
$15-$65 copay for prescriptions

$920 a month
$32 a month dental
$17 a month vision

AustinChiefs quote from another health care website

I don't see why conservatives would be against an open market where businesses compete with other businesses for your money.
I guarantee the $2K/employee "penalty" for having uninsured employees is a damn sight cheaper than paying for coverage. So there is a good chance there will be a number of employers that dump employee coverage, pay the penalty and let employees figure it out on the exchange. So "good" insurance that Obama promised people could keep turns into "shit" insurance from the exchange.

We didn't need the ACA to create a competitive marketplace of insurers. We could have simply started by allowing insurers to compete nationally instead of regionally. That would have been a good, market based solution to begin with.

Considering the tax credits that an employee would get in that situation for the premium payments they make themselves, they would not necessarily be worse off. Depending on what their recent years earnings are they might get help with premium payments up front. Even if they do not get that, I think a lot of the out of pocket money for premium payments is a tax credit that reduces the income tax on that year's return. I am not sure if it is dollar for dollar all the way, but I think for a lot of people it will be.

I think it is safe to assume that the employers like the one you describe are already providing bare minimum health insurance.

If you show me a company that would say screw it. I won't even try to meet my legal obligation, I will show you a company that does not have a very good benefits package in the first place.

Let's say that the company is spending several thousand dollars per employee on health care premiums. If the company decides to say screw it, I save a few bucks and tell the employees it Obama's fault. Should the employees say that they deserve a pay raise that replaces the lost employer provided benefit so that their actual cost to employer salary and benefits remains what it was?

It might be the case that with the premium subsidies, tax credits and other features. Employees will figure out that their company is poorly managed and trying to chisel them and blame it on Obama.

I know a whole lot of companies are going to follow the law and have a good HR and employee benefits division that figures out what to do. The workforce is its own marketplace and companies that do what you suggest could lose a lot in reputation and goodwill and people will not want to work for them when their friends work for companies that have their act together.

I filled out the info and this is what I got :

We're sorry to inform you that even under Obamacare you cannot be insured due to the fact that you have direct contact with swine which is not covered in section 6592 paragraph 47 of the OBC guidelines.

When they add the 11 million Krugman "engineers" from down south with the new Immigration Law it will surely drive down premiums to levels unknown for decades

Do you really think that I thought $900 a month for health insurance was such a great thing that everyone would love Obamacare now? I thought this would win everyone over?

I'm not saying it's morally right or wrong, but does it make the child because of it? Think about that for a second.

There was no will from Democratic congresspeople but the vast majority of the Democratic party\liberals wanted the public option or single payer.
