Georgia GOP: Paula Deen > MLK

I wonder if any of the respondents knew they were being trolled.....

Quote:
According to a new poll by the Democratic-leaning Public Policy Polling, Republicans in Georgia have a more favorable opinion of Paula Deen than they do of Martin Luther King, Jr.

Favorability ratings with Georgia Republicans: Paula Deen 73/11, Martin Luther King Jr. 59/28

Deen, of course, was dropped by the Food Network after admitting that “yes, of course” she used the N-word, and amid other allegations of racism by former employees.

What do you mean she's not doing anything different from millions of Americans? She's a celebrity, she makes money off of unhealthy recipes and continues to do so even after having her condition, and she landed a lucrative endorsement for a diabetes drug. She is hardly like millions of Americans.

The idea that she's naive is comical. She knows what she's doing. She's a very savvy businesswoman. Every move she makes is calculated. She is in it for the money. That's her right, but let's not sugarcoat what she's doing.

I don't see that she's doing anything different than millions of other Americans who rely on pharmaceuticals more than changing their diets enough.

Besides, there's always someone out there who criticizes others in the food industry. Deen even faced charges of animal cruelty last year when she became a spokesperson for Smithfield Hams. Critics say SH mistreats hogs.

BTW, according to this article, Novo Nordisk who makes the diabetes drug Victoza, contacted her to partner with on a website of diabetes-friendly recipes BEFORE they even knew she was diagnosed with it. She's lost 40 pounds; her husband 60 pounds. But she still eats fried chicken just not once-a-week anymore. Moderation is what she does. So every 6 weeks now instead. So she hasn't given all her southern food up. Sounds like change to me.

She sounds naive more than being "evil" if you read this link. She was even in denial about having diabetes.

I mean exactly what that line says, including people who work for big pharma, especially their marketing and PR depts.

So don't a lot of other celebrities. However, celebrity endorsements are as effective as you might think. People know the celebrities are paid to do them.

No, she is like other Americans in that they prefer pharmaceuticals over natural treatments.

Just read it. She was in denial she even had the disease. What does that tell you? Oh, wait, you're a hater...so probably not much.

That says a lot about her character. All I'm saying is, she's clearly not a good person and she has chosen money over helping people every step of the way through this diabetes journey.
Her food isn't unhealthy, it's packed with nutrients that your body needs to survive.

If she's trying to hide her disease, she's done a phenomenally bad job of it.

Nothing but excuses.

She did all of it for money. Convenient to be in denial about your condition while you're making millions of dollars selling unhealthy products and not at all changing how you do it. Convenient that she started coming to grips with a healthier message after contracting lucratively with big pharma on a diabetes management drug.

And no, no pharma group I know of would profit millions off of advice that contributes to a disease while hawking the products to treat that disease after you get it. If they did, they're pieces of shit too, and certainly shouldn't be given high "favorability" ratings. You still keep pushing examples where one does one thing, and not the other.

Because there aren't liberals that you hate and judge. Don't use personal attacks just because you don't agree.

Well, you are using personal attacks on Paul Deen when you call her a "piece of shit" instead of just disagreeing. Pot meet kettle here.

And fyi, I don't hate liberals—not classical liberals. I hate commie-types that use the false label of "liberal." But I don't disagree with them on everything either. I happen to agree with them more on FP these days. Mostly their solutions, I hate.
Get your facts straight.

Besides, Paula Deen is someone you have the choice to ignore, not buy her books, watch her program or use her recipes even if you want to criticize her for using a pharmaceutical ( like millions of Americans). She is only a private person who can't force or compel you to obey a law or take your money like a leftist would. Your hate is misplaced.

Who else here loves Chicken Fried Steak? Ive observed over the years some of the best comes from Colorado, western Kansas. Good other places but for some reason the plains get CFS. Good cream Gravy.

Big glass of sweet tea, a slice of lemon pie after and green bean and mashed spuds...thats a meal fit for a king.
