Bush wasn't president in 1994. And hysteria over trivial nonsense wasn't as rampant prior to widespread internet access.

My point, as I've stated before, I've seen every president since Reagan mocked at rodeos. What is it with everyone suddenly being appalled because it was Obamas turn?

So Bush wasn't president in '94? Big deal. I still hear Clinton jokes (bad ones) to this day. Are we supposed to quit making fun of them once they leave office?

I'm mostly agreeing with you. I just don't find the 1994 incident to be very relevant.

Also, and I think this should be stressed, "everyone" is not "suddenly appalled" because it was Obama.

Here's something to consider. Obama has been president for 5+ years. I'm guessing that somewhere, at some rodeo, there has been a similar stunt. Probably lots of them. And I'm not aware of any big protest about it. So why did this one "go viral?" I have no idea. So, while a few on the left shouldn't go nuts over this "insult," neither should the right act like a few making a stink about this particular incident is an everyday occurrence.

I have no idea why it went viral either. I just find it's not newsworthy. However, it's not a few making a stink over it. Comments I've read on social media are over the top. The race card is being thrown around again. I had to listen to it on national radio and I assume it's been on tv? Obviously, someone is bitching.

And you're correct, I've seen Obama used at rodeos before. Personally, I didn't find any of them funny. Now, some of the George W. and Clinton acts, that's another story!

I do think it is "relatively" few. And most probably aren't aware that this type of thing is somewhat of a rodeo tradition.

If you heard about it on national radio, I assume that was right-wing radio. So some left-wingers make a too-big deal of this, and then the right-wingers make a too-big deal of the left-wing complaints. The media on all sides reports on it/fans the flames and they get 48 hours of "news" to help fill airtime.

In 25 years, for no particular reason, Prison Bitch will start a thread about how ridiculous the left was about that Obama rodeo thing in 2013.

This is of vital importance to our nation and the world and I for one am glad that rodeo clowns get such incredible coverage.

Stop the rodeo clowns before they destroy our republic. Great republics always fall from within.. to rodeo clowns.

Never been to the state fair, but I've been to the county fair and it always boggles my mind the trash that the event dredges up. Where do these people go when not at the fair?

No kidding, the fair is fairly expensive to attend if your kids go on the rides, yet it seems that the poor make up a huge % of people there.

Not surprised a state full of slavers would enjoy watching a bull attack a clown wearing the mask of our country's first President of color.
