meh. I like my creature comforts as much as the next guy. I do sometimes wish I was born 100 years earlier. I would have loved living a farm to table lifestyle 100 years ago.

I think the biggest obstacle that our kids and grandkids face is learning how to form and foster relationships that are meaningful and deep. Phones, texting, tweets, facebook, etc. all remove what is the essence of being human, the ability to have deep and conscious relationships with each other.

I sure as hell wouldn't want to go back to when there was no AC. It's funny when the Occupy crowd cries about how terrible things are these days. Most Americans are spoiled as hell.

Some times, I think I'd like that.

Then I remember how often I shower and how much I love running water. The vegetables however, I'm sure would be absolutely delightful.

Rep for you, Mr. tooge.

Couldn't agree more with all of this, if tv, air conditioning and the intranet don't exist its impossible to miss them... just living a wholesome life free of so many complications.

Sure, life expectancy was lower overall back then, but you're exaggerating.

Plenty of people lived into their 80's-90's back then, particularly if they weren't living in cities... pollution was negligible, pesticides were rare, wild game free of antibiotics and hormones was daily table fare, vigorous work was the norm, the kids weren't engrossed in their goddamn phone twenty four seven...

Theres a lot to be said for that.
