Im pretty impressed you were able to relate infant mortality to average life expectancy. Dont get all goofy and such.

Pretty much everything sucked, forever, until the last 70 years in this country...

I get the creature comforts angle, but my point is, if you don't know something exists you cant miss it.

As for the medicine of those days, yeah, it was amuck with quackery of the stupidest kind, and vaccines were unheard of.

What i'm pointing to to a large degree, are more esoteric moral and spiritual issues that i believe people in those days had over us, imo they had a lot more focus on what really matters in life... too many people today are afraid of hard work, too much celebrity worship, materialism, too many are too tied to technology to bother cracking a book or cant be bothered to get to know their neighbor or getting out of their house and spending time outside.

Things like that, yeah, its easy to romanticize the old days, but I do believe there were real benefits to living life back then.

Yeah, probably in the 1913 era, morality was pretty high. But back up a few years to the cow town era, and there was a whole ****load of immorality in this part of the world.

I won't disagree that the overall morality of modern society is troubling, but I find it hard to believe that any era was unicorns and rainbows from a morality standpoint.

Traveling back in time would be hella cool, but I think after the initial novelty wore off you'd want to get back to our time pretty quickly.

With that said, what era and location would you travel to if you only had one option?
