Regular Guy to Receive Medal of Honor Tomorrow

Great story of a guy "who sucked at being a civilian." Outnumbered 8 to 1, held off the Taliban for six hours. Quite a guy. Story is here:

It's pretty amazing that he was able to do all that, but I don't think it's important.

Did the kid ever get anything worse than a C after this rule was implemented? Not a chance.

I'm not saying it's morally right or wrong, but does it make the child because of it? Think about that for a second.

“This medal represents so much more than me, and it’s my responsibility to give it the honor it deserves,” says Carter, who wears a bracelet on his right wrist bearing the names of the soldiers lost that day".

This reminds me so much of a show I watched on Veteran's Day a few years back about all of the Medal of Honor recipients. Without exception they all deflected the praise from themselves and directed it to the fallen..."the real heroes" is what most of them said. Great men. A shame we don't have anyone with their kind of honor and integrity in Washington.

Fortunately, your thoughts on the matter are irrelevant. SGT Carter's actions saved several lives that day, and it IS important to those Soldiers and their families, and really that is all that does matter.

Have the best day ever.

It's a good thing we have our troops over there protecting freedom and all. What if this guy had to fight his way through rush hour traffic armed only with an AK.

Watched a great doc on this, what a cluster**** those guys were thrown into, it was a terrible spot to build an outpost.

They had taliban inside the wire for hours, glad this man is getting deserved recognition.
