Obama: ObamaCare will be cheaper than your cell phone bill

President Obama signaled in an exclusive interview with radio hosts Tom Joyner and Sybil Wilkes that Martin Luther King Jr. would have liked his health care plan for Americans.

Obama spoke to the pair in the Oval Office to recognize the 50th anniversary of King’s March on Washington.

“What do you think he’d say about Obamacare?” asked Joyner, when discussing King’s legacy.

“Oh he’d like that,” Obama asserted. “Well, because he understood that health care, health security is not a privilege, it’s something in a county as wealthy as ours, everybody should have access to.”

Obama reminded the pair that it was important for everyone to sign up for Obamacare on healthcare.gov.

"We were just talking with some folks earlier about the fact that, for a lot of people, it will be cheaper than your cell phone bill," Obama explained.

What about 150K? (out of curiosity)

I don't doubt for a minute MLK would publicly frown upon Obama using this golden opportunity in our history as a personal narcissistic stepping stone, instead of the national building block in race relations that it could have been.

He's the POTUS. He's had the opportunity to have the greatest positive impact on minorities in this country since the abolition of slavery and he has what to show for it?...

Denver rookie QB John Elway, on Jack Lambert, after Lambert and the Steelers knocked Elway out of his first game as a pro (1983).

When you consider guys like Rev. Wright your uncle it isn't a stretch to guess the opportunity will be squandered.

Exactly.

For a lot of people, it will be cheaper than their cell phone. Afterall, they're not the ones subsidizing it. They're 1/2 of the country that doesn't pay income tax anymore but finds space in their budget for $100/mo cell phones.

They won't be paying much at all.

But the rest of us damn sure will be.

He's not being a liar here - just a simple crook.

WTF do you still use a Startac flip phone or what? Bagphone?

Most people spend over $100/month. I know many families who pay over $200/month.

Coach Self would ask him why he didn’t make curfew and he’d say, “Because the club was crackin’!” Everyone would laugh and he’d make B-Rush run a little bit.

Of course he would have approved. MLK spoke many times about economic equality and I am sure Obama certainty believes in what MLK said.

I am now convinced that the simplest approach will prove to be the most effective — the solution to poverty is to abolish it directly by a now widely discussed measure: the guaranteed income.

My phone is just a phone, I have enough gadgets for gaming etc so i want my phone to just do phone things. It's a 3 year old slide phone and I have 1500 minutes/texts a month with very limited data. I like my plan cuz it's cheap and does what i need it to do.
