DOes the congress need to declare war before military action in Syria?

Simple question:

Does the congress need to declare war on the official Government inSyria before we hit them with our missiles and Air Force...

Or should the president be able to attack another country without this authorization?

(poll coming)

Obama wants to strike Syria. He has put the final decision on Congress but he is asking for them to give him the go ahead.

That then in many ways puts Patteau on Obama's side however he is critical of the process, the fiddle farting around, the indecision and the telegraphing of the attack plan that has gone on for what feels like an eternity.

Cosmo is always on Obamas side and will support anything. Had Obama attacked it would have been a worldclass attack executed to perfection.

So what are you two fighting about...
That part isn't true.

Patteeu consistently blames even the existence of these problems on Obama. You don't even have to support Obama to see how ridiculous that is. If someone didn't know better and just read patteeu's posts, they would have the impression the Middle East was pretty much like Canada prior to Jan 2009.

Pathetic really. But at least he is consistent.

So then you agree drawing a line in the sand was enormously stupid if he knew he had no way to back it up? You cant have it both ways...

I don't think he could have done anything to avoid my criticism either. I don't think he's capable of it, unfortunately.

****ing really?

I made clear that I slipped up with little consequence other than personal emotional. I slipped up and felt bad about it and posted what I did. You know what else? I have quite a few friends on here who were incredibly positive and gave me support, so I call it a win.

Thanks for your opinion though. I truly value it and will definitely cherish it for years to come.

Now you're apparently trying to describe some "thread the needle" scenario where Obama should have started bombing, but at some special point in time where the Syrian opposition was made up of US-loving freedom fighters and not sullied by AQ and other undesirables. It's really quite delusional.
Being President is hard. Too hard for Obama. And apparently, understanding the power and limitations of the Presidency, as well as my comments about them, is hard for you

I'm glad that O'Bama backed down. This group in Washington would be the last group I'd want in charge should Russia and China decide to test "our mettle"

What's this junior high ? Are you unaware of the terrible job our President has been doing leading our country's foreign affairs?
