Obama's "bringing trickle back" (Yeah!)

"I'm bringin trickle back, yeah!
You mother Pubbies don't know how to act, yeah!"

Market soars, employment & wages stagnant: Dems hope for trickle-down Obamanomics

By TIMOTHY P. CARNEY | AUGUST 28, 2013 AT 1:45 PM

The flow of money between Washington and Wall Street is what little flow of money there is.... “Trickle down from the stock market and artificially low interest rates are the only drivers of the economy,” writes Ed Rogers at the Washington Post.

Rogers continues:

Obviously, an economic crash would be terrible, but so would a slowing down of the conveyor belt of money between Washington and Wall Street, which is fueling what little growth we have.

This puts Democrats in an odd position; right now the only thing worse than trickle-down economics is no trickle-down economics.

Democrats, of course, are supposed to hate “trickle-down economics.” President Obama says things like: “I ran for President to restore that basic bargain … that our economy works best not from the top-down, but from the middle-out.” The Democrats’ budget proclaims “The Senate Budget takes the position that trickle-down economics has failed as an economic policy. …”

So why, under Obama, do we get — at best — trickle-down economics? Why are corporate profits at record highs while median wages, unemployment, and new business formation stagnate?

Alternatively, proportional representation would be way better than the gerrymandered cluster**** we have now that allows incumbents an almost insurmountable advantage.

So we can all agree that voting for Obama was a complete waste of time - if you care about income inequality?

I suppose so, but in the same circumstances voting for Romney would yield the same result. So maybe we shouldn't have a president.

We should just let the corporations vote. They're the ones running the show anyway.

Hmmm, DoleCare... as in a version of healthcare reform from over a decade ago? I'll assume you didn't bother to read my post.

But it's an idiotic argument anyway since there was zero compromise in Obamacare even if it actually did contain a few components that some Republicans might have found attractive. When you're negotiating with someone, you don't get to force your idea of a compromise on them. Obama's approach to compromise is to role play as his opponent, negotiate for both sides, and then present the final result to his real opponents in a take it or leave it fashion. Get out.

It's amusing when people seem to think that wage stagnation, middle class growth stagnation only started within the last 5 years.

That's cute.

Darnit Obama

That is all true...

If you conveniently leave out " I got 98 percent of what I wanted" and using the debt ceiling as a negotiation tool.

But hey, you hit almost every standard talking point, so you got that going for you.

I wasn't aware of any democrats who praise high unemployment with a booming stock market. Are you listening to the voices in your head again?

Also, are you aware that unemployment rate has gone down from when he took office?

Nobody's saying that. Point is that Obama hasn't done anything to stop it, in fact it's actually worsened a bit. So why bother votin for him since he's powerless?

Unlike Obamacare, he got Republican votes to raise the debt ceiling, did he not? And the debt ceiling really doesn't have anything to do with getting the economy moving again anyway.
