Coach Self would ask him why he didn’t make curfew and he’d say, “Because the club was crackin’!” Everyone would laugh and he’d make B-Rush run a little bit.

If it's going to be so limited and narrow, what meaningful effect will it have?

Well, we'll finally have a chance to patch things up with our noble ally in Syria, Al-Qaeda.

It will give future biographers the hook on which to hang much praise and admiration when they try to transform this feckless disaster of a presidency into something high minded, decisive, and action oriented.

Syria isn't going to invade us any time soon, but unless you're a Ron Paul type who thinks we have no interest in the Middle East and that we should abandon the region altogether despite it's importance to the global energy equation and international trade, you can't say that they're no threat to us.

Syria is Iran's top client state and they're an important support system for Hezbollah. Hezbollah is probably the 2nd most dangerous international terrorist group, behind al Qaeda, and they are responsible for hundreds of American deaths. Their two most notorious attacks against the US were the Beruit barracks bombing and the bombing of the Khobar Towers. They stand ready to attack Americans (possibly even here at home if we can believe their propaganda) if their Iranian overlords decide they don't like our attempts to prevent Iran from getting a nuke. And if Iran actually gets nukes, we can look forward to an even more aggressive Hezbollah and more violence against our interests in the region.

No, I'm correcting your mistaken impression (because it seems to be a common one these days).

I'm not advocating an attack because I don't trust Obama to lead it and because I don't see the public support necessary for it. Unfortunately, I don't think doing nothing is a very good option either.

But I certainly don't agree with the idea that we should intervene for purely humanitarian reasons, which is what I think motivates people like Wickedson and, possibly, the Obama advisers who are calling for an attack. If we attack, it should be because we see a way to damage the Iran/Syria/Hezbollah axis without helping al Qaeda, not because we don't want to see dead women and children on our TVs.

BTW, if I were as challenged by subtlety as some of you people (pawnmower comes to mind as well), my response to your post would have been more like:
