http://abcn.ws/1ewR1NY

George Zimmerman is being held by police after a domestic incident involving a gun, police said today.

Police in Lake Mary, Florida, said that Zimmerman is being held at a residence of a relative on suspicion of domestic battery of his estranged wife. There is a gun present at the home and police are investigating whether it was used, they said.

Over 40 calls to 911 isn't normal for an ordinary citizen. It's obsessive. His intrigue into police work wasn't normal and he wasn't just an ordinary patrol guy. He was obsessive about it. And he wasn't complaining on myspace because he was attacked.

I don't know how anyone can look at his behavior and think this is normal. He is a guy who gets off on law enforcement yet can't follow the rules himself. Even in the trayvon thing, while he was justified to get out of the car, he broke pretty much every basic protocol as if the rules don't apply to him. Sorry if you can't see it and want to make excuses about it. I think he's a tool who found himself in a bad situation.
Man, you really got a hard on for that guy, don't you?

I have a problem with people who deify people with exaggeration to prove a point. Or turn guys into heroes. Or badger one guy for his past, then make excuses for another guys past.

If people on cp wanted to deify trayvon, I'd attack them too.

Oh, the irony

And so you don't ask why. You keep towing the company line about 40 911 calls.

"George Zimmerman called police close to 50 times over the previous eight years to report such things as slow vehicles, loitering strangers in the neighborhood and open garages."

However when we break that down a bit. We see the neighborhood watch guy called once every few months to report something suspicous. How ****in crazy is this guy???? Neighborhood watchman reporting to the cops every few months in a high crime area??? What a ****ing whacko!!!!

Who have I put on a pedestal? I've said trayvon was a troublemaker and at fault for the night of the incident. But nobody on cp is claiming he's a good guy.

Zimmerman lied about his finances to get more favorable bail. It's not an accusation, it's a fact. And I wouldn't be saying these things if people didn't treat him like some kind of hero.

Why hasn't he been prosecuted? There are enough out there wanting a piece of his hide I can't imagine no one's pursuing it. Personally I don't know anyone who's treating him like a hero; just not the villian so many out there wishes him to be.

Over 40 calls to 911 isn't normal for an ordinary citizen. It's obsessive. His intrigue into police work wasn't normal and he wasn't just an ordinary patrol guy. He was obsessive about it. And he wasn't complaining on myspace because he was attacked.

Over what span of time; what were the nature of the calls? "Ordinary citizens" aren't usually involved in "neighborhood patrols". Sounds over the top to me, and I do think he had a Barney Fife mentality but as "neighborhood patrol" he probably considered himself justified. I'm sure with that number of calls he was "crying wolf" on a lot of occassions.

I wouldn't call his behavior "normal" and I do think he made quite a few bad decisions, that night and since, but I really don't think that makes him the piece of crap so many wish to make him out to be. He's no hero in my book, but he's not maniacal either.

You keep exaggerating shit is the point. Nobody is putting Zimmerman on a pedestal. It's more backlash against the bull shit he was put through by NBC(doctoring photos and the call), local media, the race baiters, and the anti-gun crowd. People are standing/stood up to that. Sorry if you are butt hurt about it. Oh, and there is also people wanting to enforce the actual law thing, that most wanted to overlook.

Well that certainly sheds new light on our discussion...I was thinking it was over a couple of months...while I paid some attention to this whole debacle, I haven't followed it as close to some...c'mon Chiefzilla...

Thanks for the accurate information BCD.

Like I said, I am sorry he had to go through the ridiculous media circus and hope he wins a big lawsuit over media networks that purposely doctored video.

I get wanting to defend him against that. But let's not make excuses about his past and overlook his past.

He knew what your point was. The information in its entirety didn't fit the "not normal" narrative, so it got left out. Good post by the way.

Dude, 46 calls is obsessive. Over any time span. And most of these calls were not while he was neighborhood watch. I don't know anyone who an deny that this is really strange behavior. And I suspect most of you wouldn't feel safer, but rather annoyed if you had a neighbor who kept calling 911 for ticky tack things. Hell, these are 911 calls for clear non emergencies.
