Now you're spinning this as, well, its REALLY what PUTIN wanted. You could spin any conflict that way if you wanted. Anyway, it's irrelevant. It is a potential outcome that achieves a goal without military use.
Like I said, if you believe that that's the actual goal, then it's all good as long as you're not bothered by the undeniable humiliation that Obama has experienced on both a personal level and on behalf of our country.

The chemical weapons are addressed without military action. You really think the general public is going to see that as a humiliation?

I'm more concerned about what Russia, Iran, our allies, al Qaeda, China and everyone else who base their behavior and their diplomacy on their perception of US strength will see it.

I keep forgetting that there are people who actually believe that this is about chemical weapons, and that they're not just a pretext.

nope...

somewhere between giving lip service to arming he rebels and really giving them enough firepower to beat assad (which is apparently mccain's position)...

like most things lately, there seems to be some confusion within the administration as to what our position is...

He couldn't get his closest advisers on the same page with respect to requesting Congressional support. It looks unlikely that he's going to be able to get that Congressional support. He can't even get the majority of his own party to support him. The call for Assad to hand over his WMD was an offhand comment from one of his underlings rather than a part of a carefully orchestrated plan. If Putin is "doing what Obama wants" it's pure coincidence because you can bet that Putin is doing what Putin wants.
Exactly. Obama was out over his skis. He laid down his red line and wasn't willing to enforce it. Agree or disagree with his marker, once laid either enforce it or be considered ineffectual. Obama is ineffectual. Obama then begged the Brits who passed. The UN Security council (long known to be useless by right thinking individuals) turned out to be useless to the Blameless One. Then Obama abdicates authority to Congress in another pass off responsibility at all costs maneuver. Congress is through the looking glass with Pelosi and Boehner/Cantor supporting the President (before Kerry's bungling into a solution. So now everybody who supported military action looks like an asshole. Way to pay back support Barry) and Ted Cruz/Bernie Sanders opposing it. More divergent political philosophies you could not find.

When Kerry, who was absolutely spitballing ideas in a ****ing press conference, answers, "Gee...well. I guess if Assad handed over all of the chemical weapons and allowed inspectors then maybe we wouldn't blow his shit up. I guess, but that won't happen." No sooner had he said it when the Russians said, "Damn good idea comrade". Russia goes to Assad and says, "just say they're yours. The US will 'inspect' for 15 years. You won't have to get rid of them because the US will whine, and cry to the UN and the 'international community' for decades because they are ineffectual pussies". This is going to be Saddam Hussein 2.0.

Meanwhile, back in Moscow, Putin has been searching for a way to make Mother Russia relevant on the world stage for years. Now, this sphere of influence has been generously handed over to Russia by this bungling band of butt**** buffoons in the US.

Let me ask this. What happens when Iran pops off a couple of rockets into Israel? Does Obama have any authority to act unilaterally to help our only ally in the region? No, he doesn't. He's abdicated his authority to Russia because now Russia can come in to save his ass again. The US can no longer act in the region without first kissing Putin's ****ing ring. What signal does this send to our allies, like Japan, for instance. Or Taiwan. Can China **** with them without fear of repercussion because Obama has handed the US's balls over to Mother Russia?

****ing Obama and his Obots. This is why you don't elect leaders based on American Idol. This shit ****ing matters. Wasn't bad enough that Obama ****ed the economy. Wasn't bad enough that Obama can't govern at home. Now he's gone full retard and ****ed us on the world stage.

Well done dipshit. Hope and Change indeed.

They've already said pretty clearly how they see it. They see Obama as a monkey with a hand grenade (Putin's unfortunate words, not mine). Pretty well, much the same way that they saw Bush.

I think you're misreading them if you think they see him the same way they saw Bush.
