DC feuds and moderation

We (meaning the mods, cause let's be honest I don't do really do jack around here) are done being used in your petty feuds here in DC. So from here on out if you and another poster decide to say mean things to each other... have at it but leave it OFF THE MAIN BOARD and leave us out of it. Don't bother reporting their posts because you will be ignored. If they TRULY cross the line I'm sure a 3rd party will report it and it can be dealt with.... if the mods think it is worth dealing with at all which is doubtful because we are tired of this shit. If you get tired of feuding and TRULY disengage the other poster and put them on IGNORE and they continue to harass you... we'll step in then... maybe. Seriously kids, deal with this crap yourselves, we have put plenty of tools at your disposal to do so. Forcing the mods to get involved causes more harm than good...but let me stress this again... leave it off the main board.

Let me also be clear here and say that the mods have been acting in good faith and trying to deal with this crap in the past in as fair and impartial a manner as possible... but going forward I thinks it's better for everyone if we stay out of it entirely. This, however, doesn't mean a free pass to act stupid. IF a mod feels it's necessary to step in they will and your best bet is to just accept it and move on. This "clarification" is simply to say - don't EXPECT us to help you fight your battles in DC for you.

You left out well deserved criticism of the capricious moderation results and policies that encourage people to run to the mods.

And btw, the Lounge is every bit the cesspool that DC is.

That was on me. They certainly don't suck but the policy(my fault) was far too open to abuse. Hopefully this makes things better for all involved.

I like the cesspool, or at least I like the lack of moderation that allows a cesspool. I hate boards that are heavily moderated.

The only time I ever recall contacting a mod was in the lounge when I posted a picture of my granddaughter in the photography thread and some sick shitbag photoshoped it into a porn picture. Even then I only requested it be removed~
Here's the why... KC Native was banned recently for calling someone an uncle tom or something equally mild. Having seen and experienced much worse on a routine basis, he was naturally surprised by the seemingly random decision of the moderator in question to ban him. Who can blame him? We've all seen people get away with much worse.

The moderator in question claimed that Native was banned because the post was reported and implausibly implied that he was unaware of the plethora of worse namecalling that goes unpunished on a nearly daily basis here at CP. (Apparently, Sgt. Schultz of Hogan's Heroes trains our moderators, if you know what I mean.) In any event, KC Native was given the undesirable option of either living with the double standards or actively reporting posts.
