Step 6. Continue to pretend you weren't being dishonest. Call everyone stupid.

Nobody can escape Obama energy policy? ...

You do realize there is a huge difference between climate change research done by IPCC, NOAA, and other agencies that we've been discussing here, and Obama's energy policies? There seems to be a great deal of confusion between the two. Obama has absolutely no influence over global climate change research. The exact research that many in this thread are laughing at and disparaging(mostly because of their fear of Obama).

It's that difference that you seem to be ignoring. Obama's energy policies, right or wrong, are a completely separate topic. You can hate on Obama all you want. But that doesn't make climate change less legitimate. This is a global issue way over any Obama policy you might be scared of. Whatever Obama does has zero impact on the truth in the information posted in this thread.

Obama is reacting to independent global scientific research. He's not creating it. You're mad at Obama's reaction itself. You simply don't understand the subject of what he's reacting to. And you're projecting your hatred of Obama onto climate change itself even though they are separate issues. Obama isn't the one stating that climate change is happening. The global scientific community is doing that.

You can complain about Obama's reaction if you want. But you're trying to demonize climate change as a whole instead of Obama's potential reaction to climate change. Different things, and you're not smart enough to see the difference.

The thing you are ignoring is one wouldn't exist without the other so no matter how you try to spin it my original post stands. Obama over reacting to destroy a complete industry coupled with him funneling billions of dollars to his political cronies for bullshit green energy jobs, is exactly in line with my post.

Economic impacts will come regardless of anyone's economic or energy policy. It is a matter of physics, biology, and economics.

Anthropogenic climate change is happening.
Future weather patterns will be different, which will affect water availability, in many places negatively.

Food systems are dependent upon water availability. Food in many places will be harder to grow.

Food shortages will cause food prices to go up.

None of this has a damn thing to do with who sits in the office at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave.

New Lows: Sea Ice and “Steven Goddard” credibility

September 14, 2011

“Steven Goddard” is a pseudonym used by an anonymous climate denialist crank, so incredibly sloppy that he even embarrassed arch climate denier Anthony Watts, as shown in this link (http://wattsupwiththat.com/2010/07/0...-km2-per-year/), and as I showed in one of last year’s “sea ice wrap-up” videos.

At least Chris Monckton has a medical condition that explains his break with reality. As for this “Goddard” character, well, I have to let you see this headline to believe it.

What’s really refreshing and amusing is how “Goddard” was immediately taken to task by none other than Julienne Stroeve, National Snow and Ice Data Center researcher whose iconic graph of accelerated sea ice loss I recently featured in a post. See here:

“Steve chose a graph that shows what he wants to portray while ignoring all the other institutions that show either a record low for 2011 or a “tie” with 2007. University of Bremen already announced it is a new record low. In my opinion, given the error margin of the measurement and algorithms, 2007 and 2011 basically tied in their extent this year. NSIDC will likely show 2011 as the second lowest, but again it’s within the error margin (which is about 50,000 sq-km).”

The arm waving we’ll be seeing this year, if NSIDC does not declare a new record, and U. Bremen does, will all be over a distinction without a difference, which is further evidence for my theory that climate denial is a form of autism -deliberately losing itself in a maze of details and completely unable to grasp a gestalt.

Stroeve tagged an addendum to her post, with an assessment of current ice conditions (as of Sept 12)

Remember last September though it looked like the minimum had been reached and then it went down further again. So best to be patient a few more days…

For now, a look at one of the most telling of ice graphs, the ice volume picture from the Polar Science Center at the University of Washington.

“Dr. Walt Meier at NSIDC has convinced me this week that their ice extent numbers are solid…. It is clear that the NSIDC graph is correct, and that 2008 Arctic ice is barely 10% above last year – just as NSIDC had stated.”

No, that's 100% wrong. Climate change exists completely independent of Obama or his policies, and it always has. That's the entire point I've been trying to make. You act like climate change is some new Obama idea or something. It's not in the slightest.

This is a perfect example of why there's so much misinformation and confusion regarding climate change. People don't even understand who's making the claims and why. They think(or have been erroneously told) it's an Obama idea when it's not in the slightest. Obama is certainly a **** up in many ways, and I don't agree with most of his energy policies. But that has zero to do with the science behind climate change.

There's lots of bullshit going on with various energy companies right now, but guess what, they give just about an equal amount of money to both US political parties. They're making their own rules and regulations by paying off both sides. Look at the campaign contributions to both parties. The majority of the top contributor names for both parties were energy corporations. They're paying quite a bit to be able to **** up the country. They paid enough so that if a republican president would have been elected, it wouldn't be any different. But again, that's a political problem and certainly not a problem with the data and validity of actual climate change.

You couldn't be more wrong.

I'm not arguing the fact that the true effects of climate change would or would not incur an economic impact.

I'm saying Obama is using the global warming scare (that means data) to order his goons at the EPA to shut down coal energy, our cheapest method of creating energy. That means higher prices for everyone. So yes, the two are intertwined.

Unrelated, I'd like to hear what kind of shenanigans you think energy companies are pulling to sway rules and regulations. I work for the energy company that has the largest wind farm in the nation and growing. I see nothing of what you speak, at least in our area.
