Jaguars fans will demand Tim Tebow at 3:16 p.m.

A group of Jacksonville Jaguars fans will convene at EverBank Field at 3:16 p.m. on Monday for a three hour, 16 minute rally to encourage the team to sign Tim Tebow. The start time and rally length are a presumed nod to Tebow’s favored Bible verse, “John 3:16,” but, who knows, it could also be a reference to his anticipated quarterback rating if he ends up getting signed.

The 0-2 Jaguars scored 11 total points in their first two games with quarterbacks Blaine Gabbert and Chad Henne. This poor start, coupled with a healthy dose of delusion, is enough to make some fans think Tebow is their franchise savior.

“Love him or hate him [...] Tim Tebow behind center in a Jacksonville Jaguar uniform would change everything,” the awkwardly-named group “Jags-Tebow, Why Not” writes on Facebook.

Yes, it would change everything. For starters, it’d make fans wistful for the Blaine Gabbert era.

Tebow is a state hero from his high school and college days in Florida. He was cut by the New England Patriots at the end of training camp. Since then, he’s fielded offers from Kiss’s Arena League franchise and a football team in Russia, but has had little interest from NFL teams, including the Jags.

Though it’s telling that the two people from the photo above feel compelled to cover their faces while advocating for a Tebow signing, their “Why Not?” slogan raises a decent question. Seriously, what do the Jags have to lose by signing Tebow? They’ll sell some more tickets, will get some national media attention and won’t force television stations to apologize for airing their games. It’s victory all around, excepting for the games Tebow would play, of course.

I'm not a Tebow fan, but you have to give the guy credit--he finds ways to win.

It could only get better or stay the same with Tebow. They can't get any worse.

Maybe we have it all wrong, and they just need a sacrifice for the football gods.

Tebow is going to hate the Leftist culture in London, doubt he will go to the Jags.

He also seems to be able to really elevate the play of super shitty teams.

At this point, Jacksonville should punt the season away and take the #1 pick.

If Tebow means asses in the seats, at least that's SOMETHING.
If that were the only factor, they would have already done it. They had plenty of opportunities to pull the trigger during the off season and chose not to.

Sounds like the jaguars are going for a "Major League" situation.

Honestly, I don't know why they wouldn't do it.

They can't sell tickets and they suck.

Can Tebow be a better leader at QB than what they have? Yes.
Better QB? Dunno.

The team has talent, but they have bad QBs and again - no leadership. Say what you will about Tebow, but he's a great leader, inspirational and would add an instant "heartbeat" to this team. Fans would come in droves and ownership has to see the $ there... if they don't, then just buck up and get ready for a long and ugly season.

At least Tebow would give them some hope and a fighting chance. He's not a long-term and likely not really a short-term answer, but neither is on their roster right now at QB. And, barring making a trade for a backup like a Ryan Mallet which would be great for them but will never happen... this is what it is.

The Jags have a fairly unforgiving schedule coming up... so either way, it really doesn't matter to be honest.

SEA / IND / STL / DEN / SDC / SF / TEN ...

Tebow has zero NFL talent. Why any owner or coach would want him beyond my compression. The fans should hope they lose them all and get a QB with first pick.
