ObamaCare goodness continues

Home Depot Inc. (HD), the world’s largest home improvement retailer, plans to end medical coverage for about 20,000 part-time employees and direct them to government-sponsored exchanges scheduled to open next month as companies revamp benefits to fit the U.S. Affordable Care Act.

Employees with fewer than 30 hours a week will no longer be offered limited liability medical coverage, Stephen Holmes, a spokesman, said today by telephone. About 5 percent of Atlanta-based Home Depot’s 340,000 employees are enrolled in that plan.

You said they have gone up every year, is there inflation every year?

I would say yes so it goes up.

You are really unaware that insurance costs have been rising extremely rapidly (much faster than inflation) for everyone for well over 20 years now?

I agree that mentioning inflation was moronic. You should talk to the guy who brought it up.

Problem with your theory though is that I'm not talking about an individual plan. I'm talking about a group plan, and my age isn't going to have much impact on that.

We were told that it's not just inflation, and that came straight from the people at the main office, that deal with this stuff. Our insurance costs rose dramatically, from years past. You can assume what you want, but I know for a fact, what we were told, and I see it in the much higher premium costs.

I'm really, not, sure what, it is, that you, are saying.

If you're saying that health insurance costs have been rising sharply for 20 years at a much steeper rate than inflation, then I agree with you.

I'm saying that Obamacare is causing our insurance rates to skyrocket. My wife's employer recently opened a new store, that is 3-4 times the size of the old store, yet the amount of full time employees only grew about 10%-15%, because they can't afford to offer insurance to many more full time employees. Obamacare is just another cause of the lack of full time jobs. It's also causing insurance premiums to increase much more, than what we saw in years past, and that came straight from the people at the offices that deal with this stuff on a daily basis. Obama, and his stupid ideas are ruining this country.

It's just not true, and the rate of increase the past couple years has actually been lower than in the years prior. Those are facts.

cosmo, Obama promised to slow the rise of the oceans so then lowering costs of healthcare will be a piece of cake for him.

You are full of shit, and I can see that, just from how much our insurance costs rose for this year, with a promise that they would increase that much, or more, this year.

What facts? You do know that putting the word "wrong" in all caps does not qualify as a "fact'" don't you? (I know this is probably a dumb question but I'm legitimately worried based on your posting history that you don't understand it.)

I'm sorry, but its COMPLETELY CORRECT that health costs have been rising rapidly for over 20 years, including the years before Obamacare. They have slowed substantially the last 2-3 years, maybe that's what's gotten you confused, but that's after Obamacare, not before it.

Facts can be a real bitch can't they.
